Jerry Carroll was the pitchman in those TV ads.

He grabbed the money and ran to Israel. Aliyah, or avoiding extradition?

I dunno. I would never recommend doing business with an insane person. Hey, my name is Travis Bickle, ride in my cab. My prices are INSANE.

The times I did business at Crazy Eddie’s I had run into a lot of bait and switch.

It would seem to be a bad weekend for 68 year old. Crazy Eddie and Horrible Hillary were/are(?) both 68 years old.

I remember Crazy Eddie. They said that they would beat any advertised price. Bring in an ad from a competitor, and they would match or beat it.
Problem was, their prices were higher than the competition. If you didn't have an ad from a competitor, you overpaid for the merchandise. It was high pressure sales.

Will the pallbearers include Leaping Larry and The Wiz?

The changeable sign at the local head shop said, “Buy 3 pipes for the price of 3” today.

Back in the late 70’s there were electronic stores like that in Times Square ( among other things). Who would buy electronics in NY Times Square?

To avoid extradition.
The family took Crazy Eddy public, suppressing information about the company's actual financial situation as they did so.
Antar took the funds raised from the investors and absconded, after having been arrested and released after he promised to appear.
He was arrested in Israel and extradited back to New York. He got sentenced to eight years at Club Fed.

Thanks for the info. I didn’t remember him as getting off scott-free. He got off easy.. considering.

Kinda ironic when you think of it. Hillary not getting to 69.

Who would buy electronics in NY Times Square? People who had lots of cash to get rid of?
I always wondered that myself.

It’s like buying used fancy watch in the diamond district.
