The first time a European power was defeated by and Asian one.

Not quite - that would be Genghis Khan and the Eoropeam powers would be the Kievan Rus and the Georgians.

Then, there’s the battle of Budapest where Jebe and Subedei ran circles around the Hungarians but that’s a topic for a different day.

One can also point to Attila’s Huns but then again he was finally beaten back.

They’ve tried to get the money to do that but so far are still short a few million.
