George Harrison died in 2001. I assume "George Harrison's estate" is his second wife, Olivia Arias Harrison and their son, Dhani Harrison.
Olivia Arias Harrison was born in Mexico City in 1948, and moved with her family to the Los Angeles area in the 1950s. She met George Harrison when she was working at A&M Records in the 1970s.
In spite of what the article says, my own ears tell me it was not the Beatles' version of Here Comes the Sun that played last night, but instead a version by the cover band.
I did a very brief online check, and found that another company is involved in the publishing rights to George Harrison's music.

I don't know they have a legal issue. I hope some freepers with knowledge and experience in this matter will speak up.
too bad. We live to offend. Seriously it has gotten to the point where I love offending......it has become rather easy to do.....breathing soon will be offensive to the liberals.
Then be offended. Who cares.
If Harrison’s Estate sold the rights, and Trump bought their use, fair and square, his estate is just spewing their own biases and are hypocrites
Saw this coming the minute it played. Someone needs to inform these dumbass artists and their heirs that unless someone is using your art illegally, tough patootie.
Brits are generally offensive, since 1776...
Just a bunch of whinging. STFU.
It’s “fair use” at conventions. She can go back to Mexico and pout.
they do this so they can keep their lib cred
Great, now even dead people are hating on him.
Yes we must go on a major offensive of offending!
george harrison was my second favorite beatle and he probably wouldn’t have minded trumps usage.
My understanding is the Beatles lost ownership of their music many years ago.
(Ripley) “They can bill me”
What’s awesome is Trump doesn’t care.
The typical republican politician would have cowered back in horror, apologized, and swore to never do it again. Trump has already said he will use whatever music he wants.
Mick Jagger is dancing on his grave!
Shut up and sing.
Public domain!!!!
Nothing there legally. This is just a group of lefties speaking out for one purpose, so their lefty friends know they didn't "sell out". Now they can go back and crawl into their safe space.
Pffft!
Would they prefer “Here Comes the Darkness”? Good chance. Well, they’ve got that now too, of course, but in a few decades, they’ll get it big time.
