Sounds fun, I guess. I’m impressed that you understand all this.
They don’t build cars the way they used to; and they never did.
LOL - good point.
Odd...I had a beautiful ‘67 Buick Skylark, white with black vinyl top, black interior. I loved that car. It took us from Fremont, CA to Olympia WA, and then from Olympia, WA to St. Charles, MO, pulling a 19’ Nomad RV (HEAVY ol’ thing) with absolutely NO problem whatsoever. Igor decided “we” should sell it (it was MY car) because he wanted a new Chevy Monza.
I still miss that Buick. :o|
Awww...squeeable Ceiling Cat!
I slept from 1745 last night to 0300 this morning, and then snuck in another 45 minutes before getting up. It’s what I get for being up most of the night before.
Yesterday afternoon, I gave up trying to be a hoomin bean and went to play some Mah Jhong on the Kindle. I couldn’t hold my eyes open so I thought I’d just take a 20 minute nap. It turned out to be 30 minutes but the sound of heavy rain on my patio woke me up. It POURED for about 25 minutes.
When I went to look outside, I opened the door and couldn’t even see the building across the lawn, about 100’ away. And “no rain” in the forecast!
Good morning. I’m glad you had a good night. DP and I went to the Botanical Garden last night to hang out at their after-hours special. It rained there, but we were under cover near a pond and visited with a young man who had an electric guitar but had never heard of Steve Earle.
Since they got their liquor license, you’re not allowed to bring in your own wine, but the volunteer at the bar let us use a corkscrew and said, Tsk tsk, don’t do it again.
You and DP are such rebels!
Impetuous! Yes, you and DP are definitely impetuous! *tsk-tsk*
Now that I’ve had my shower, I feel a little better, but the ol’ joints are really stiff this morning, so the moving is a bit sluggish.
(If one said “I’m stiff in the joints” to my mother, her reply was always, “stay outta the joints, then!”) *rimshot*
And, by the amount of humidity in the air and my difficulty breathing, I will need a breathing treatment before long. Another reason to not like the monsoons. It’s overcast, and the forecast for the entire week is rain. SO let’s get it and get it over with. Last year, the monsoons were about a month early and lasted well into September. This year, they are late and sporadic, so how long they will last is debatable.
Since this is desert, I’m always grateful for the rain, even though it depresses me physically, mentally and emotionally. Mixed feelings, much? Yes. That.
My super power is making a market crash at will.
All I have to do is invest heavily in it.
I have been asked to buy property in Manhattan, but the offers aren’t high enough.
I’m trying to remember from Rogers and Hammerstein’s “Cinderella” what the one ugly step-sister did for her creaking knee. Linament oil?
If I could find some Absorbine Jr., I’d have it in a heartbeat. Charlie uses something (he walks a couple miles every day) on his knees (they were crushed in a car accident about 12 years ago) and when he comes out to the ramada, it’s all I can do to sit there. Some days, I really wish the wind would blow or change directions.
Was that the same thing the Tin Man used?
It seems like there should be a way to get rich off this.
Back from Walmart. I got two packages of ground beef at 30% and two fancy cakes at 70% off (for the homeless shelter).
Not for me. If I ever swore I’d swear I could break the lottery.
I’m actually imagining the talking heads in the MSM trying to explain how Powerball just went belly up and wouldn’t be paying out any winnings and having their round-table discussions on how this should not be possible.
Which is why it’s a super-power.
Wanna know why those scam emails never come from the Nigerians any more?
Yep, I crashed them.
*whew*
I went to Dollar Tree to get my quarters, and came back to find an AT&T truck in my spot. When I saw the guy, I told him visitor parking was on the street, and he slammed the rear door, but moved the truck. While he did that, I backed into my spot, just in time to catch him again, at which time, I thanked him. He mumbled something about “vieja” and I just came in to get busy.
Another “packing” job done. I sorted the stuff in the linen closet, except for the neatly stacked sheets, and managed to put the stuff in two tubs. Hoisting them up to the top shelf was NOT an easy job because of my once-dislocated left shoulder. It doesn’t like to lift heavy things higher than my shoulders. But I did it. There are eight tubs left and I don’t think that’s going to be enough.
At any rate, another job done. :o])
