Hey, strangler! You have been missed by a few of us! (Others have much better aim.) :o])
Exactly the circumstances I was reading under. I even have real books as well on those on Kindle. (Which I can read anywhere.)
Whoa! Even the antlers are white...amazing what God thinks of to entertain us.
Wait. What? Are they on the floor looking up? Or do they have their heads on the floor and their butts on the wall? Eeep.
92 degrees, 5% on my patio, SE @ 8.
No wonder the A/C has been running all night.
And I’ve been up an hour and a half. *yawn*
The evil dreams kept stalking my sleep and waking me up. Ugly stuff about certain persons who shall not be named. I hate dreams like that.
“Some settling of contents may occur during shipping or handling.”
I think the kittens are sitting on the bottom of the box looking up toward the photographer.
Tom and Elen are off to school, and the rest of us are Organizing. Everyone will do at least one assignment today, just so we can say we Started School.
Kathleen has her riding lesson at 11:00.
And I have laundry to do. The bed has been stripped, the clean sheets are waiting to be put on it, and all the towels and sheets are in the laundry basket, waiting for me to go up and open the door.
And my day won’t really start until the laundry is done.
Done. Now, the bed. Then the dishes, and the rest of the day is mine!
How productive you are! We’ve made some progress here. Kathleen’s riding lesson had to be rescheduled because of construction at the stable. I’ll go to the used bread store and the Walmart after the kids have lunch. Then maybe we’ll do naptime.
I got the bed made, the clean towels set out in the bathroom, and about all that is left is the dishes. I may or may not get to them today, but they are on the agenda!
While I was waiting for the stuff to dry, I read more in my mother’s personal history. She did a bit of fudging the dates and events just before and just after my brother Mike was born, but it’s still pretty interesting.
And now I know how and why Mildred came to stay with us, and I’m thinking, without doing too much more imagining, that my dad was the reason my mother left her husband and moved to Reno with four kids and a “housekeeper,” whom, it seems, sometimes doubled as my maternal grandfather’s mistress.
Anyway, it’s coming together for me, so her life is no longer a blank. I don’t think she started writing it until after she married my dad, but that’s OK. I just wish I had access to my late sister’s papers. *sigh* I’m sure there is a gold mine of information in there.
Anyway, it gives me more incentive to get back to writing mine, now that I have updated the Dragon software. Of course, I still need to get it set up with my OpenOffice program, but still, it will be well worth the upgrade.
And I believe, at some point, I will send this history of my mother on to my son, since she was a big part of his life.
Hi, all. We got my mom’s service behind us but now my F-I-L is in the hospital. So, I’ll be a little quiet until things store down.
*settle* down.
Take care of you, ArGee.
We will patiently wait and send up prayers for your F-I-L.
Sorry about your father-in-law, hope he’s better soon!
I don’t answer my phone when I don’t recognize a number and about once a week, I’ll take off the messages from my voice mail. Today, I found one from the post office.
She wondered why I wrote to the Postmaster General, when she just sent me a packet last week. So I fired back another email to the effect that if she had read the first two emails, and responded, there would have been no need for me to write a letter. And of course, she can’t understand why I wrote to him...
But it was only the third email that she responded to, and said she would send me another packet. The whole point of the exercise was to alert SOMEONE with brains to the fact that the clerks are dispensing erroneous and misleading information to the customers.
I’m sure Kim will tell me about this gal who is “in charge.” She says the gal will have to be moved sideways, rather than upward. The Peter Principle at work.
The incident took place on June 28, and I got the packet last week. So it was six or seven weeks in the making. WHY? No wonder they are losing business...
The Post Office has no reason to change as long as they have the monopoly on delivering letters.
I’ve accomplished some more cleaning things, and now I’m going to do some paperwork for church.
Yes, there is that.
Paperwork for church sounds more exciting than what’s in front of me...watching talking/screaming heads. Boring.
I think I’m coming down with a cold. Bleah.
