This is such a shame. I was in Rio in the middle 1960,s and it was a beautiful friendly city. Sad to see how far it has fallen.
Billions of dollars for soccer stadiums and Olympic venues but not one cent for sewage systems. No wonder Brazilians are in despair over their political class. What is so ironic the Brazilian elite signed up to host the two premier international sporting events to showcase they have arrived as a first class nation but the exposure of hosting has shown the world Brazil is still as de Gaulle stated “country of the future... and always will be”. I hate Brazil because it is my nightmare vision of the future of the US. A multiethnic 3rd world corrupt cesspit lorded over by a small white overclass who manipulate the tribalism to keep in power.
