I’m concerned about that too, but I still want the public to know the true facts about the Hildebeast!!

I was disgusted with the Clinton crime family in the 90’s too, even though I only saw their public face. This guy must have had it far worse.

On the other hand, if there is the possibility that they could write a book, they might get treated better. To me, trust is a two way street, and it wouldn’t surprise me if the Clintons abused that trust.

Just wondering out loud here...

Does a SS Agent take an oath to uphold the Constitution? If so, does that oath have priority over the SS oath?

Clinton called the Secret Service agents her “personal pigs.”

My memory is a bit fuzzy on that -- Wasn't that Chelsea's term for them? (The nut doesn't fall far from the tree if that's the case.)

I doubt that this book will cost Hillary very many, if any, votes. The low information Democrats who slobber over her will be with her ‘til the end.

Old news, we’ve been through this before. If we don’t see it on NBC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC it’s all politically motivated and sexist.

Well, I’m not overly optimistic about this book having anything new that wasn’t documented/leaked in the 1990s (hint: foul mouth, tirades, cursing at SS officers, throwing plates and lamps around the room towards the then-President, “Keep that bitc* away from me” after assault and battery was committed on the then-president in front of the hapless SS officers who couldn’t do anything to prevent it), but if it helps to educate those who aren’t old enough to remember, I’ll open the popcorn.

I totally disagree. If the protected has nothing to hide, why worry about a scandalous book coming out.

On the other hand if they are acting in a manor that hurts our country, they SHOULD be exposed.

If they feel the need to hide from the SS because of the low life harm they cause, then let them deal with the consequences.

No SS agent should have to lay down their life for a lying, corrupt, thieving, politician that expects complete secrecy while they perform their dirty deeds in full view of a sworn law enforcement officer.

As much as I hate the Clintons, I’m bothered by a Secret Service agent violating the confidentiality of his job. If a president cannot trust his SS detail not to write tell-all books, he will try not to have them around, making himself more vulnerable.

How do you know he violated confidentiality? He has an obligation to the country to testify to any behavior he believes indicates a threat to the republic. Honor is not stupid. And the Clintons have no honor. So how can there be a breach? The position of the presidency is one of obligation to the people, not lèse-majesté against them.

From the publisher’s description, at Amazon:

“While serving as a Secret Service Officer, Gary Byrne protected President Bill Clinton and the First Family in the White House and outside the Oval Office. There, he saw the political and personal machinations of Bill and Hillary Clinton and those who were fiercely loyal to them. In CRISIS OF CHARACTER Byrne provides a firsthand account of the scandals—known and unknown—and daily trials ranging from the minor to national in scale.

“Having witnessed the personal and political dysfunction of the Clinton White House—so consumed by scandal and destroying their enemies, real and imagined—Byrne came to understand that, to the Clintons, governing was an afterthought. He now tells this story—before voters go to the polls—in the hopes that Clinton supporters will understand the real Hillary Clinton.”

Thanks, hoosiermama. Does the book mention flying ashtrays and stolen White House silver/ Antiques/ Paintings?

Thanks for the heads up. I pre-ordered it, and I don't "do" books any more, preferring to read reviews and the internet.

At amazon, it's 13.99 Kindle (don't do that either) and 20.62 hardcover.

As to tell all, I will decide after I have read the book whether the author did the right thing or not.

Maybe I have to check out in order to guarantee myself a copy.

Bill is giving one of the eulogies at Muhammed Ali's funeral.

Right now I am listening to an MP3 of Catherine Albrecht, Christian activist especially about the RFID chip. Believe it or not, there is an article by her in a now-old issue of Scientific American, September 1, 2008 about the chip in drivers' licenses of people in states along the borders of Mexico and Canada. I think I can read it all from her website but have to pay $7.95 to read it all in the Scientific American archives.

It's pretty amazing a prestigious publication like SA would publish a bible Christian's work.

http://www.scientificamerican.com/article/how-rfid-tags-could-be-used/

So why did I jump to that? Because I doubt there will be enough interest to start a new thread.

Depends.....standard confidential content and even some negative material about the character of the President should be kept confidential, in my opinion.

But if the content speaks to consistently unethical behavior then I don’t want to think of SS as “employed” to keep information from the public.

I’ll use an exaggerated example to make my point - if the president was shooting up heroin in the oval office - then no, I don’t think confidentiality applies.

This book will be number 1 on the charts by the time it is released, thanks to Drudge.

Drudge did the same thing in 2004 for the Swift Boat Veteran’s anti-Kerry book, “Unfit for Command”. It was really low on all the book list, then after Drudge headlined it, it catapulted to number 1 and totally destroyed John Kerry’s “I served in Vietnam - I’m a hero” shtick.
