I worked for a guy who had several Corvette’s, Jaguars and an AC Bristol. His everyday driver was a Pacer. He loved it.

That was my dream car as a kid. That’s a 240Z...’72, I think. The 260’s were even nicer but as a brand new driver, I was lucky to get mom’s Rambler wagon for a night out. The only other car that I liked as much was the Triumph TR6. Sucked having great taste but no bank.

My mother’s ‘57 Chevy 210 with a yellow side-stripe, a hidden overdrive gear, and room for 8 girls. Had it all. Life was good.
Mom wouldn’t let me touch her ‘72 Chevy Nova with a racing engine. She wanted to be “the little old lady from Pasadena” and was. Could lay rubber with the best of them.

You need a drip pan under one of those. For the testosterone.

"Those are still beautiful cars." They are. Very nice stance, one of the more wheel-oriented British designs. Excellent exhaust note straight from the factory, beautiful old world interior with the entire dashboard fascia being wood. I've seen some very nice TR4's around too, especially with the factory "Surrey Top," a sort of precursor to the Targa Top. A little too retro under the hood in general for a daily driver, but very pretty.

There are dream cars...
...and the car you actually get.
Mine was in slightly better shape, but rusted in the same spots! Paid $100.00 for it.

Yep. That was the poor man’s version. My brother had one. It was a POS. Trans went out on it right after he bought it.

I wanted a '32 Ford roadster, chopped and channeled, wit '39, '49, or '41 front axle w/hydraulic brakes; a 59A block, bored and stroked, balanced crank, aluminum pistons and cylinder heads, dual carburetor manifold, dual exhausts with glass-pacs; and Naugahyde tailored seats; cycle front fenders, done in metallic midnight blue,
Comin' right up. Don't I wish. The most I got of it was a fancy shift knob. And a lot of Hot Rod magazines, back when they were $0.50 each. Dreamin' on ---

My dream car in High School was a 1967 Jaguar E-Type. And oh yeah, I worked two jobs as a junior and senior and bought one. This is a picture of my high school car, a 1967 Jaguar E-Type Coupe (incorrectly called XKE by Americans) as it looks today. It is currently owned by a gent in Denver (I sold it in 72 when I entered the US Air Force and it changed hands a couple times). Today I own a 1967 E-Type roadster which I bought in 1981 or 2.
The red C5 in the background is mine.
