I’m surprised more people aren’t rooting for the Others after the Shireen burning. Apparently people like undead more than the living.
There’s a reason why over half of Stannis’ army deserted him after that. I’m kind of surprised more didn’t leave him.
Ned Stark = broke vow w/ AD = dead
Robb Stark = broke vow w/ JW = dead
Jon Snow = broke vow w/ Ygritte = dead but some believe a sorceress who admits multiple times her “magic” is a sham will resurrect him
Bran Stark = in a tree
Rickon Stark = feral orphan
Arya Stark = psychotic assassin
Sansa Stark = broke vow w/ TL = probably carrying RB’s baby
Ned Stark = broke vow with who is AD? Time will tell if Ned really broke his vow to Caitlyn or not.
Jon Snow = the Night’s Watch vow is to take no wife, hold no lands, and father no children. Having sex with Ygritte without marrying her was a bit of a loophole. And the vow “shall not end until my death...”
Melisandre’s magic does work sometimes - that shadow creature she gave birth to was real enough to take out Renly. I think her vision of Winterfell was real, but hasn’t happened yet. Presumably, she has some of the same powers as Thoros.
Rickon and Osha were last seen headed towards Last Hearth, the seat of House Umber. Greatjon Umber was one of the few Stark bannermen who was not at the Red Wedding, so he and his house are presumed to still be alive. If Rickon and Osha can make it to Last Hearth, they might be able to do something with the feral boy.
I’m not one of the R+L=J people, and I do understand the show has to take a lot of short cuts to explain a bunch of overlapping triangles.
Ned was in a pickle from the start. It could’ve been him or his brother; that part is murky.
Mel uses shadow magic. Stannis wanted her to make another one, but she begged off. That made me wonder if that was a one-shot thing until she sort of offered it again in the show, but Stannis refused her. Her fire magic is questionable. Thoros is a different story.
I think I spotted some Umber banners in the trailer for the upcoming season, but the shot was so short, I can’t really be sure.
Does AD = Catelyn Stark (Tully), then?
Thanks for the ping. Can’t wait, have it marked on my calendar.
