I think I’d have retired with the first 12 million and then I can take whatever I want.
she plays tennis?
She’s a Russian beauty but I’ve been told not very friendly. Too bad.
The drug linked to tennis great Sharapova has roots in Soviet military
SOURCE:
The obscure performance-enhancing drug that may have doomed tennis star Maria Sharapova’s career was developed for the Soviet military and used during the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan to maintain soldiers’ focus under stress, according to the drug’s inventor.
Sharapova announced Monday that she tested positive at the Australian Open for meldonium, which has been banned in competition since Jan. 1. The drug, which is not approved for use in the United States, is used to treat heart disease and other chronic conditions in Russia and Eastern Europe — but it was first developed in the then Soviet republic of Latvia at the height of the Cold War as a military tool.
It’s a matter of, time before Serina Williams. Gets caught in a failed drug test. But the media, and ESPN will cover for her and she’ll get a pass.
Excuse to get out of contracts they were stupid enough to give in the first place.
I’m sure Tiger Woods is still with nike.
Why don’t these companies apply the same strict scrutiny with regards to Drug Testing to the actual Broadcast Networks they Hire?? Any Employee or Independent Contractor fails and you don’t get our Advertising Revenue? I would love to see that. Put Hollywood right in their Place.
She should have hired Hans and Franz rather than taking Boar’s hormones, it probably made her grumpy.
But Nike kept the loser Tiger?...
I have a guest room.
I can rehabilitate her.
What was her management company doing not alerting her to the new regulations ? Isn’t that why they get 20% of the earnings and the sponsorship money ?
Isn’t this a prescribed heart medication she’s been taking for 10 years?
Tennis just banned this as of January 2016.
As long as the prescription is for a true medical condition and not performance enhancement, cut her some slack.
These athletes make more from endorsement deals than from the sports they play, yes they need to win to get to where they get them, but once they have them to use seems silly to me.
Yes, eventually the sponsors will move on to someone else when you fade, but if you get caught doing this stuff the money evaporates almost instantly.
Personally I’ve can’t think of a single product I’ve ever purchased in my life because of any celebrity endorsing it, but it must work or they wouldn’t pay these guys.
She says she was unaware that the law had changed. I’m giving her the benefit of the doubt, since that can not be proven or disproven.
Hey, Maria, how about a Casio?
The drug in question is not a steroid. It was only banned two lousy months ago. How do we draw the line. Why is this no good, but caffeine is fine? Why are supplemental vitamins okay? They can be performance enhancers. I don’t know what the answer is, but it isn’t testing for every health supplement under the sun.
I'll have what she's having...
Shoulda stuck to creatine.
