One day as a lion does not a Mussolini make.
I think he only reads tweets. Obviously low info guy, probably why he doesn’t release his transcripts. But he can say wall.
That’s right, our founding fathers were not lions... They were giant lions with wings and foresight.
Bunch of wussified pansies all worried about it.
Our founding fathers led a war to expel England. They were not exactly pussy cats. They also had to fight to defend the constitution against royalists.
In any case it’s a statement about living your life boldly and not as a timid follower. Much like Teddy Roosevelt’s statement about the man in the arena.
I am not a Trumpster... however, I do find the irrational reactions everyone has to his tweets or statements incredulous. The one thing Trump understands better than anyone, is how to manipulate the media... and in that I mean so that they give him Free air time in exchange for ratings. The overreaction to him, which gives air to the Trump=Hitler memes is pathological.
Let’s pretend for a moment, Trump is Hitler. And? Is our system of govt set up to support a fascist? I would argue that Obama has already attempted to take us down the road of fascist socialism, and that was only possible because of a complicit democratic congress. So do you believe the republican or democratic congress would support a Hitler? I also do not believe merely holding a nativist view is what designates you as a fascist. Supporting the idea that the federal government directs the means of production, is what ultimately directs control to a totalitarian system.
The Mussolini quote is actually a great quote, and not his originally... the fact Trump tweeted it, is sticking his finger in the eye of the left.
This is very thin.
Sigh - tell your kid’s Kindergarten teacher to keep on teaching that winning is for losers and being a man means licking the boots of women - except for the fact that there’s no real difference between men and women - your disdain of his statement of being a lion as preferable to being a sheep shows that you have bought into it all anyway .... Baaaaaaaaaaaaa!
Another lying phony fraud has been busted. You and whoever the too timid “and various others” are to step forward.
"Give me liberty or give me death." - Patrick Henry
"'I only regret, that I have but one life to lose for my country." - Nathan Hale
They did choose to live and die as lions and not sheep.
Your boneheaded attempt to use a Roman quote favored by Mussolini to make Trump incompatible with our Founding Fathers is a desperate stretch that pathetically fails on all points.
One of my favorite sayings is, “Better is the enemy of good enough!”. The fact that is is attributed first to Vladimir Lenin, translated from Russian of course, doesn’t change its validity, or make me a Communist for liking it.
The time is long past for the right to continue to fight with our hands tied behind our backs while the left fights with nukes.
The Constitution isn’t a suicide pact.
With the presidency, the supreme court, and 40 million illegal potential Democrats hiding in the shadows waiting for amnesty, this one is for all the marbles, and we MUST NOT LOSE.
Do you feel stupid now? You made a whole thread with a wrongly attributed quote. Hahahahahahaha
Ed
You present a skewed picture of the founders...They were not sheep...They were Lions of the highest order...And what about the creator??? He told his disciples to go into the world and preach the Gospel...He certainly didn't send a bunch of sheep out there...He told them to grab a sword a go...You got this all wrong...Trump didn't get this wrong, you did...
Hitler said he’d like sausage for breakfast. At IHop, my daughter said she would like sausage for breakfast; therefore, my daughter is a Nazi.
You Rove-bots are bat-chit crazy.
The author is an idiot. The quote is all about the value of courage. Nothing else.
That just makes it all twisted.
Not in the individual. When you say 'office holder' it means their powers IN THAT office - it's the ROLE - not the INDIVIDUAL they wanted to restrain.
The evil is not the power, it's the incorrect use of it, and since man almost always abuses his power in Government, Government was to be limited from granting power.
Your premise is virtually socialist.
It's a great saying by a man who not only didn't understand it but was actually a hyena. C.S. Lewis might also disagree with you.
