those bible accounts came immediately to my mind also. Popes have been groped and knocked about for forever, probably even more so prior to Popemobiles etc. You never heard about JP2 lighting someone up for it. I was frankly shocked by it.

A+++ Most UNpopelike behavior from a pope in my lifetime. Lots of reasons to speculate that Trump’s religion is new-found etc. and we have done so in class, but we are just a bunch of jagoffs on the internet, not the Supreme Pontiff of a religious denomination, and NO ONE in the classroom pointed to his wanting to build a wall as proof of not being a Christian!

The man is not very Christian.........to be Pope? Not quite there. I cannot believe our church, it makes me want to cry....but I KNOW the church is bigger than Pope Frank.

That's about where I am. In the general election, I would be able to vote for any of them, except Jeb. My comments here wouldn't sway anyone toward a candidate, so I've not engaged in this room, as I feel amongst friends and don't want to ruffle any feathers.
