Excerpt:

In a move guaranteeing that 2,100 workers will be out of a job, two Indiana plants have plans to move operations to Mexico.

The companies, who make products for heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC), will begin layoffs within the next two years.

Carrier Corp. said it would shutter its Indianapolis plant employing 1,400 workers and move its manufacturing to Mexico. The plant's workers would be laid off over three years starting in 2017.

United Technologies Electronic Controls (UTEC) also announced Wednesday that it will move its Huntington manufacturing operations to a new plant in Mexico, costing the northeastern Indiana city 700 jobs by 2018. Those workers make microprocessor-based controls for the HVAC and refrigeration industries.

United Steelworkers president Chuck Jones said Carrier's move is disgraceful considering that
it has been in Indianapolis since the early 1950s. He said the 1,400 affected workers are scared.

They will vote Trump.

Democrats haven’t helped them any.

A lot of auto parts manufacturers relocated from the US to Mexico in the early/mid 90s. Then a lot of that work went to China in the 2000-2010 time frame.

It appears to me as Chinese wages trend up, the work is trending back to Mexico. Mostly because of logistics.

Our founding fathers had tariffs - it’s in the constitution.

Tariffs are basically how the government was funded until the Income Tax.

Wonder how Bernie, and the rest of them actually, think they’re going to fund their proposals.

I see us either going to 40 trillion in fake money or going into a giant depression that no one can afford to bail out of. The taxpayer base is being destroyed and there aren’t enough billionaires to make up the difference.

If you don’t like borders, think national pride is jingoism, want America to be more like the rest of the world, and think of yourself as a citizen of the world
instead of a citizen of the USA then free trade is the way to your Utopia.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of "Conservatives" that would be fine with offshoring literally every job in the country. We would become like Somalia or North Korea, but it would be good for business!

And primo conservative Newt Gingrich was a primary supporter of NAFTA and the WTO. People who called themselves conservatives supported those two globalist programs almost to a man, with Duncan Hunter, Sr. and a few other exceptions. And they supported W's amnesty goals and the Gang-of-Eight amnesty bill. Those have been the two most vigorously supported conservative goals of the past twenty years.

"Conservatives" here and elsewhere today want to talk about gay marriage and abortion, and mouth a few words about "limited government", but they won't embrace the globalist agreements and goals that have been a hallmark of the GOP for the past two or three decades.

And Ted Cruz, the smartest lawyer who ever lived, and the purest conservative alive today, has flipped and flopped on the issue of TPA and TPP and the free movement of labor (also a globalist goal). And also on immigration issues.

All these "conservatives" need to drop all the posturing and discuss the issues of this campaign in a logical and honest manner. Conservatives have, and still do, support open borders, any trade agreement that can be dreamed up by any globalist on earth, and amnesty for illegals.

Yep !

Remember Black and Decker ?? Pure junk now.

Finding a decent 2 slice toaster is as difficult as seeking The Holy Grail.

Everythings costs less but is replaced more often.

Trump will get lots of private sector union support. Starting with the Teamsters and United Mine Workers.

Come north, manufacturing workers. Michigan wants you.

Just 40 minutes from me, they are building a plant to make compressed wood.

Michigan is a manufacturing state. And we’re right up the road.

I thought the deal was that no corporation would ever leave Indiana if they just shelved religious liberty and replaced it with gay rights.

AMEN !!! Today 40% of all businesses labor costs here in the US is due to regulatory compliance, not the building and selling of products. That's why we have a "Service Economy"and that is being rapidly off-shored too.

Your statement cannot be repeated enough. Regulatory compliance is killing us regardless of the industry and is a huge detriment to the economy. I would like the candidates to talk more about this. This economy is committing a slow suicide.

Thanks for the suggestion .

The price doesn’t matter if it works and lasts.

My first toaster (1960) -—a 2 slice Toastmaster, lasted for almost 20 years and there were 7 people using it almost daily.

My current one,a Cuisinart, never toasted evenly on both sides so I have to turn the toast——like the one my mother had in the 40s.

globalist agreements and goals that have been a hallmark of the GOP for the past two or three decades.

Well said.

I support Trump for a very good reason. Rush has mentioned it a few times the past week or two.

What has all this "Conservatism" gotten us?

All these "Conservatives" preached the marvels of "free trade." They still do, even to this day they'll defend NAFTA and offshoring jobs.

It was all a SCAM.

They'll say you're not a "Conservative" unless you agree with screw-job trade deals that destroy our economy.

Well forget that!

What NAFTA and global trade has done to the American economy the past 20 years has been absolutely catastrophic.
