Karl Marx fancied himself to be an economics professor as well and he got an even larger following than Gerald Friedman. How did that work out?

Sure. You’d have a government make-work job like they used to have in the Soviet Union. You’d get paid $100,000 per year. And milk will cost $50 per gallon and bread will cost $20 per loaf.

Of course the income tax rate would be in the 80 to 90% range, so it wouldn't really matter.

No human socialism to date has been able to overcome the selfishness quotient. Nor, if Judeo-Christian theology is correct, and I have found it to be more reliable than any modern physics, will it be able to do so.
What these folks are trying to do, bluntly, is to have God without a God.
However I am not as hard on socialists as I used to be, bless their bleeding hearts so to speak. They’re looking for the right thing in the wrong place. Men can not gin up blessings. However they can count on the promise of a God who, when approached in the right way, will bestow blessings.

Yep, there is always that kind of fly in the ointment.
Ooh, could Donald Trump make mincemeat out of such ideas.

If it even did that good it would be marvelous as such plans go.
Trouble is, that there is never a selfless interest to be found among men. It has to be found in God.

Friedman is a member of the Democratic Socialists of America and the author of financing plans for single payer healthcare plans.
He is very wrong.

Mr. Friedman must have studied with Paul Krugman.
If there were a Nobel prize for Comedy, Mr Friedman would be a top choice, having exceeded even the inane BS of his mentor.

Yes, if by “soar” they mean soar like a cinder block dropped from a C130 at 20,000 feet.
