I believe you are confusing leadership skills with lawyer skills.
“Ted Cruz is a young, clean, articulate, first-term Senator who gives great speeches and has wanted to be President since High School. What other qualifications do you need?”
Being born on American soil to American citizen parents would have been nice.
I have little doubt at least one of them would know where there is a whorehouse. They’d have to be faster to lead, though...
We're only seeing what the Communists get, not what Turtleface gets.
“The direction in which he wants to lead is of greater concern to me than how good a leader he is, and I donât trust him on that.”
Please explain what direction he’s talked about leading us that worries you? Maybe can allay your fears.
So what (of ours) will he trade for what?
Change the name and re-read your statements. I think they will seem familiar.
Yes, it would have made things a lot easier if Ted Cruz had been at least born on American soil to citizens, or legal residents.
In short, I think he's a "big government" guy. I do not like his aggressive support for subsidies, he supported the auto company bailouts, he said that the goverment should pay to ensure that everyone has health care, and he opposes entitlement reform. Maybe that's the direction you'd like to see the country go, but I don't.
He also doesn't seem to grasp the difference between private entrepreneurship, and the goverment getting into business for itself. He said that the government should take a percentage cut of the Keystone pipeline oil ("10, 15, maybe 20%") if it is built. He's also made similar noises about defeating ISIS and then "taking the oil". Uh, no. The U.S. conquering parts of the Mideast to take the oil also is not the direction in which I think this country should go.
Again, you may feel differently.
