They've "crushed" themselves completely out of business in this house.
Unannounced "upgrades" are a despicable business practice. To hell with Amazon.
If you go through the Amazon Smile portal you can give a percentage of your purchase(out of the price) to the charity of your choice - even the NRA foundation.

For a mere $99 an year they collect all of your purchasing preferences, viewing habits, and sell that metadata to advertisers
I don’t step foot into a retail store from Thanksgiving through New Years, thanks to Amazon Prime. It is worth the price just for that!
I LOVE amazon prime. been a “member” from almost day one. pays for itself for me in a couple of weeks i buy so much stuff from them for myself and my business. really cool thing is you can send also use it to send free 2-day shipping to basically unlimited number of other people.
i like amazon anyway because their customer service is nearly unparalleled in quality. I rarely have to send stuff back because i try to research really carefully, but sometimes I do, and there’s NEVER a problem.
whenever shipping is late, i call up and get a free month of prime added on.
The free video service alone can replace Netflix/cable. Free shipping. It’s a no-brainer for me.
If you have an *.edu email address, Prime is $50.

Bought a 12 foot stepladder on Amazon Prime last year....for less than it would cost at the local home improvement store, and delivered to the house without the need to rent or borrow a truck. It paid for itself several times over for me.
I live in Alaska where it is common practice to be stiffed for shipping costs. I don’t know anyone who isn’t Amazon Prime.
