Ted Cruz calls Mitch McConnell a liar on the Senate floor
http://freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3316121/posts
This is Trump serving notice that he will never call out the liars in Washington.
Now that Trump is cozying up to the GOPe a bit, his supporters have changed their tune as well. Now it's all about working with people, getting along, not saying rude things (how dare Cruz say McConnell lied, when McConnell lied?).
It's downright Orwellian.
Worth repeating.
What you have listed isn’t the measure of what makes a ‘grown up’.
I would think it takes a man to be gracious about having support or not having support from any individual.
Cruz has addressed the ‘birther’ issue for example: http://www.nbcnews.com/video/cruz-fires-back-over-trumps-birther-claim-596844611999. People are filing cases against him, and I believe the only way many will be satisfied is if Cruz is out of the race. In the end, that’s what it’s about. A distraction, attack on doubts and not substance.
Owning and running a business is certainly admirable but not all people run or own a business and that certainly has no bearing on whether someone is a grownup or not. There are even situations where could be a detriment.
Well I could say I don’t believe you can sit outside the political process and periodically comment on things as a self important celebrity (which he’s by all means entitled to do) and know what there is to know about our government.
As a matter of fact, it’s painfully obvious to me, or it has been, that the most painfully in over their head candidates on policy and on the issues are Dr. Ben Carson and one Donald J. Trump. Heck somebody posted on here that Trump tweeted out about McConnell being “Speaker of the Senate”. Now, granted that’s not a dire electability issue- it merely makes Trump look like the average American voter and citizen who has a rather remedial understanding of our government.
It’s fine that you want someone with executive experience and what not running the country. Most people do.
My problem is I don’t trust Trump to “Make America Great Again” when I’m not even sure he understands what truly made it great to start with- not at the heart of things anyway. He may have a rough understanding of what made it great around the edges.
Trump is not ‘bought and paid for’ except the American People and that will take my check to the bank....
Right! Trump has nothing but praise for the press and the politicians! Sometimes I get so tired of how he goes on and on about how honest the Press is and what wonderful shape the country is in because of the politicians in Washington.
Luckily, we have a Natural Born Canadian ready to make things right and return Canadian values to Washington. Ted Cruz will sweep in like an Alberta Clipper and clean out Washington! GO Ted!
I hear you.
But I still am not going to agree with you.
Trump has still been in business with those same people, and arguably worse his whole life.
Sure, he’s “self-funding”.
That doesn’t mean he absolutely owes those people no favors whatsoever. We simply don’t know. And FOR ME, he’s not inherently principled enough, conservative or otherwise, to take that risk.
Besides, my personal belief is that once someone becomes POTUS, they’re almost ALL owned in one fashion or another at this point. Whether he’s worth 10 billion or 4 billion, it really won’t matter at that point.
That’s just how corrupt the whole thing is at this point. Trump won’t change that. Arguably no one will.
Which, I hate to say stuff like that, because it sounds like such a downer. But, I try to be realistic too about where we really are at.
