I think a bunch more folks just decided to attend.
The actress’ husband, Will Smith, was shut out this year from the Oscars. He was, however, nominated for a Golden Globe for his work in Concussion in the Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture — Drama category. He lost out to The Revenant’s Leonardo DiCaprio, but the couple were in attendance during the January 10 ceremony.
This year, the 2016 Oscars will be hosted by actor-comedian Chris Rock. “I can’t think of a better man to do the job at hand this year then you, my friend,” Pinkett Smith said on Monday. “Good luck.” (Rock previously called it the “white BET Awards.”)
It is a worthless, made up event. They can just put up a list, cut all the crap and simply pick up their fake 2k gold trophy. Solved. 30 minute show, tops.

albeit for different reasons entirely. I find this leftist love fest where if you ring the marxist dinner bell, the salivating dogs of the academy will reward you with an award, self serving and bogus.

I guess the fact that jadas husband Will Smith was nominated twice (Ali and Pursuit of Happyness) and lost in both cases to other black men (Forrest Whittaker and Denzel Washington)

Spike Lee was nominated twice AND WAS GIVEN A LIFETIME ACHEIVEMENT AWARD JUST LAST YEAR
