Using ebates.com I shipped gifts directly via Proflowers, Williams-Sanoma, and Harry and David. I used Amazon Prime for the kids. I don’t think I actually bought anything from a brick and mortar. I got the best prices, didn’t deal with people of Walmart types, didn’t stand in line, and will get a rebate check in a couple of months.
In fact, none of the four or five orders I placed were delivered by UPS or FEDEX, USPS effected final delivery for everything.
I wouldn’t beat on them for haste as much as I would urge the patience. To take a while to get into a Christmas mood and then pick your symbolic gift item, is not the worst thing in the world. The web DID promise it, didn’t it? To believe this the first time around is not shameful. To keep on believing it in the future without anything changing, means you need to change what you believe.
Beats dying at the mall!
Good catch!
FedEx problem was contracting with the freeking POST OFFICE for long haul ground freight and final deliveries. Hey FedEx, you got where you are today because people DON’T want to use the post office, and now you know the reason.
At least the FedEx delivery guy hasn’t gone postal.
Molehill getting treated as mountain, huh. How much of this is down in the usual error range?
Agree 100% with you, but you know the whining will be incessant on this one. The left looks for any excuse to blast any corporation even one as beneficial to our American livelihood as Federal Express.
The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence... we never stop to appreciate the greenness of our own grass.
Ruined...outraged...
Isn’t this occasion to celebrate the birth of Christ? Am I missing something here?
I ordered a college sweatshirt on November 30th as a gift for my son. The company decided to use a FedEx service for ground freight that contracts with the Post Office. I knew it was being shipped "ground" but thought three weeks is plenty of time for a small package. It still hasn't arrived. I already read the riot act to the company I ordered it from, and hopefully they will do the same to FedEx for creating this irresponsible and unreliable freight class.
You aren’t missing anything, Hal. They’re missing it, though maybe in the forced slow down, God might actually speak to them and then they will cease to miss it.
Christ came to stay. To put the “with us” in Emmanuel. A delayed item might underline a point. After the worldly frustration burns off, some appreciation may come across.
There are bright spots yet in the economy and these are among them. We have growing pains. Most items are nice to get on time but it’s not as though you will die if you don’t.
I know what you are saying, but FEDEX puts a lot of miles on a package. I live in Illinois.

You can just jokingly tell your son that Santa was a bit slow this year. He wasn’t able to cope immediately with new technology and the boom in business. Give him a year to learn.
Wow.
I ordered 2 last minute things last weekend and they still got here yesterday. Not critical things, just ‘I bet they’d like that’ things. They were both USPS though.
Fedex will probably invoke force majeure due to weather. The past 3 or 4 days have been epic in that area of the south.
Where is that?
Merry Secular Christmas to everyone in America where materialism means more than everything else.
Well, God has a way of teaching us to laugh at that, once we get out of our sulks.
