Well, it’s served through a mechanism that’s not safe according to the security restrictions configured on my system. I deliberately avoid FB for this among many other reasons.
This reminds me of something from the past...
Years ago a relative was having trouble with some punk running over his mailbox in a big 4 wheel drive pickup. After replacing his mailbox and post 4 times, he decided to pick up an 8 foot section of drill pipe. (He worked in the oil field all his life)
He cemented the pipe in place and attached a 5th mailbox to it, left a small square concrete housing in which he planted a few flowers.
One night not long after dark he heard the expected loud crunch and walked outside to take a look. The truck was in the ditch, front end mangled, transmission almost completely yanked out, mailbox destroyed, post bent...
So the guy who ran over the mailbox sued for damages. The judge decided that after 4 mailboxes it was intentional destruction of personal property, not to mention a federal charge regarding mailboxes if I remember correctly, and told him he would not only have to repair his own truck, he would have to pay for the replacement of the mailbox too.
That was the last mailbox the relative lost...
We started to get our mailbox hit and run over. My dad finally took a section of pipe that he set it into a concrete base as well as bolting the mailbox to the post.
One morning we went outside to see the mailbox tilted and could see the black paint on the pipe as well as the chrome pieces as well as the headlight glass strewn up the street.
My dad tilted the mailbox back upright. The mailbox ramming stopped.
“OMG zombies are chasing me! Hey, a bike! I can make a getaway!”
...of course most pro’s, at least, throw their hot bikes in the back of a pickup (or SUV), so I suspect their vehicles will make more than 200 feet.
What does work well are VEHICLE systems that kill fuel flow after a mile or so. Typically leaves the perp in a situation he’d prefer to avoid.
I saw a guy in a brand new truck with his company name on the side blow through a mailbox. I called the company and since it was a brand new truck, they found the driver.
I told him that he had until 6pm to replace the mailbox or I would tell the homeowner what company he worked for, securing the loss of his job.
It was done by 6.
Every once in a while, I leave my car running with the door open. I want to stand and laugh at the knuckledragger car thief try to drive a manual.
LOL. I once saw a bumper sticker that read: “Don’t bother, it’s a Stick”.
I love it! Awesome!
I try not to hate anyone, but I canât help but to hate thieves.

It’s been about 10 years since my bicycle was stolen and I still say, had I caught the thief in the act, I would have shot him.
“But it’s only a Bicycle Graybeard”
No, it’s MY bicycle.
I try not to hate anyone, but I canât help but to hate thieves.

NOTHING so vexes me as a thief above ground.
Years ago a “friend” was storing some belongings for me, among them a 1980 model 5-speed Schwinn Beach Cruiser. Without warning, he sold the belongings and my bike. I was at another friend’s house about 6 months later and happened to see my bike in his back yard. I made no mention of it but went back that night, let myself through the side gate and took my bike. The “friend” who bought my bike knew it was mine. He called me and asked if I took the bike. I said you’re damned right I did, it’s my bike and I still have the receipt for it. He swore he would get it back. That was 1991 and I still have it. I also have new friends.
Why do I recoil in horror at the theft of someone’s personal property. The violation of one’s personal property is something I can never understand.
My moral compass is not as upset as much by reprehensible actions as shop lifting I suppose it is because it is not such a personal afront. Not saying that action shouldn’t be punished...it should. But theft against individuals to me is the worst and those breaking and entering to steal someone’s property needs to be riddled with bullets
With friends like that who needs enemies?
Where’s Waldo?
There’s a story there..... ?
What did the ghetto kid get for Christmas?
YOUR BIKE!
Years ago, the local “TV Crime Line” (rat out a Bro for a reward) cop got a beautiful set of new golf clubs, bag and all, for Christmas.
Headed for the course, he put the bag by bumper of car, went back into house to get golf shoes, came back in :45 seconds, and clubs were gone.
I’ve never been able to find it. I’m pretty sure the MSM would say that what we have here is a poor victim of racism, while sensible people would say he’s just a bicycle and swimming pool thief. But like you, I’d love to know what the cops did about it and whether or not he’s doing any time for it!
