(NASCAR Statistics)
How are pit stall's chosen? by qualifying results, the 1st choose their stall and so on.
If a car/driver has to go to the rear of the field before the start of the race due to driver change, backup car,
engine/transmission change, etc they do NOT lose their pit stall selection

And today Jeff Gordon takes over the "Iron Man" leader for Nascar, having started over 789 consecutive races when he takes the green flag today. It will take six years for the next closest driver to surpass Gordon after he completes this season.
I think Jeff should race the first three races in 2016 so he will end at 800 consecutive races!
and Benders de Fenders bombed again to day...
UPDATE: Stewart-Haas Racing has scheduled a news conference for 1:00pm/et on Wednesday at the team's Kannapolis, N.C., headquarters, at which time driver and team co-owner Tony Stewart is expected to announce that 2016 will his last season behind the wheel. Gene Haas, Stewart's partner, will attend the news conference, the team confirmed.(FOXSports.com)(9-28-2015)
Tony NOW MUST WIN THE CUP UNDER THE NEW SPONSOR...
WOW, I'm speechless.
Yeah, same here. I would like to see Tony get the Cup in ‘16 with the new sponsor. That would give Him 4. The 3 He currently has are: Winston, Nextel and Sprint. Something 6whine can never do;)
UPDATE2: Tony Stewart will step away from Sprint Cup competition following the 2016 season, NASCAR.com has confirmed from multiple sources. A press conference at Stewart-Haas Racing’s North Carolina shop is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon to announce the plans, which will include naming Clint Bowyer to drive Stewart’s #14 Chevy beginning in 2017. NASCAR.com will live stream the 1 p.m. ET announcement at NASCAR.com/presspass.(NASCAR.com)(9-28-2015)
A unique talent.
But watching the Xfinity from Kentucky on Sat (no Cup drivers due to the scheduling) there is plenty of new talent on the way up.
So what happens to Clint in 2016?
Good question.
He’s rumored to be doing a one year stint in the #51 car (Scott Motorsports) until the SHR slot opens up in 2017.
I think the emotional and psychological toll from the fatal accident play a significant part in how well he’s run this year and the decision to retire. I hope he changes his mind.
Who is 6whine?
I may not last the rest of this season
NASCAR to meet with team owners on Tuesday: NASCAR will meet with Sprint Cup team owners on Tuesday afternoon at the NASCAR Plaza in downtown Charlotte, NC. The meeting is expected to tackle a number of topics, including competition issues and what the structure of team ownership might resemble moving forward. Since the Race Team Alliance was introduced last July, there has been increased buzz regarding the possibility of franchising or revenue sharing. RTA chairman Rob Kaufmann expects to have some system in place by the end of the year. NASCAR held a competition meeting last Friday at New Hampshire Motor Speedway with team managers, manufacturers and Goodyear to discuss the 2016 Sprint Cup rules package which is expected to be finalized later this week.(Motorsport)(9-29-2015)
