“Good Lord you trumpoids and your messianic zeal make the obamabots look less worshipful of their flawless god.”
I’m still in the Cruz camp, though it’s doubtful he’s going to get the nomination. That was the first post I’ve made saying I’m getting tired of the same BS being spewed on every single thread by those suffering from TDS. Now comparing me/they with the obamabots, them be fightin’ words! Guns or knives? Lol
It is a habit of thought based on certain fundamental guiding principles:.... belief in a natural law that transcends and legitimates positive law; ......belief in the importance of tradition and in the foolishness of rejecting traditions lightly;...... belief that political life should revolve around reason and dialogue rather than emotion and raw power;...... belief in the benefits of limited government and in the dangers of demagoguery.
Of course, because the application of principles to real-life contexts always involves interpretation, and hence an element of subjective judgment, it is possible for conservatives to agree on principles while disagreeing on how those principles should be implemented in specific policies.
...... Therefore, it's naive and/or disingenuous to claim that Person X is not a “real” conservative because he supported Policy Y or opposed Policy Z...... Unlike leftism, which stages show trials of its own brethren who are politically incorrect, conservatism neither demands nor values rigid ideological conformity.
Thus it isn't Trump's position on this or that issue that makes me regard him as falling outside the conservative camp. ....Rather, its the fact not only that—unlike Reagan—he never appeals to (and, quite frankly, seems unfamiliar with) the guiding principles of conservatism, but also that he actually seems committed to principles that are essentially anti-conservative . . . above all, his ...”Let ME run everything” prescription for achieving national glory.
There is a name for a political style that combines a charismatic, strongman style of leadership, intrusive government management of the corporate economy, and inflated nationalistic rhetoric. ...That name is NOT “conservatism.”
(I can't recall who wrote this...I copied and filed awhile back)
Depends on what they pledged to him.
It's been grating on me, as it's a little too much like lefty-style fawning celebrity worship of their politicians. Soon, I imagine they'll be telling us why some trumpette daughter should be a congressperson from NY, because she's so stylish!
Well, that’s not true unless you selectively ignore some of the other candidates, or selectively limit yourself to only looking at a couple of issues. In other words, it’s a “wishful thinking” argument.

Well, there is a bit of a difference with right wingers when they do this stuff, I think. Right wingers aren’t “fawning” so much as desperate to find a decent leader. We’re like an army with no generals, so when someone shows up with a star on their shoulder, half of us are ready to die for them just because we want the opportunity to finally fight :)
The problem is, I think, half of us don’t bother to ask anymore stuff like “Hey is this a decent general? Does he know what he’s doing? Do we want to go where he’s leading us?” After all, if we don’t ask those questions, we can’t get the answers we don’t want to hear.
Donald knows that to get on the SC ballot he will have to sign the pledge so why not today in front of all the cameras? At great little press conference. He looked like the front runner.

I know where these guys stand on most every issue.
So many of you guys are telling us not to support someone but cannot tell us who we should support. I would love to hear who you think is going to beat the democrat nominee.
I’ve stated over and over that I prefer Cruz. It appears that is not going to happen. The long list of R’s gets pretty weak after that.
Please tell me who and why. No one seems to do that.
