Importantly, the GOP-e is trying very hard to rig many of the state primaries right now. They have already rigged some, but they are being so crude and blatant about it that it goes against common decency.
1) The early primary gambit. State parties were threatened by the establishment that if they moved their primaries up, they would have their number of delegates sent to the RNC slashed. But these establishment controlled state parties did so, and will eliminate all delegates who are not voting for Bush, sending just hand picked Bush delegates to the convention.
2) The RNC rules committee is entirely pro-Bush, hand picked after the Ron Paul delegates almost took over the last convention. They have written the convention rules to *only* favor Bush, and to push other candidates to the sidelines.
3) In several states dominated by establishment Republicans, non-establishment precinct chairmen are being systematically forced out. In Arizona, for example, precinct chairmen must essentially swear loyalty to John McCain or be replaced.
The funny part in all of this is that Jeb Bush is such an unpopular loser, despite huge amounts of money from his 30,000 wealthy backers, that no matter how much they cheat, rig the rules, or slander their opponents, that he may enter the convention with a majority of delegates and less than 10% popular support. They might as well nominate a sock puppet.
I would take that bet. Little Jebbie isn’t going anywhere. The Establishment is implicitly acknowledging it themselves with the public rumors about Romney reconsidering.
I don’t think Trump will be the nominee...but I don’t think Bush will be either.
