He was very close to being the nominee in ‘76.
“Mystery Babylon” was strongly behind Ford as the Republican candidate, but the people largely knew who he was, and the strings he had pulled and were not going to vote for him.
Squeaking in as the GOP nominee just got Ford the opportunity to lose the election.

You’re obviously not much of a political guy.
Ford was the sitting President in ‘76 because he had been rewarded by the global banking establishment for orchestrating the Kennedy Assassination cover-up.
There was nothing going to stand in his way if they could help it. They thought that Carter was enough of a nobody that he didn’t have a chance, so they supported him as the Dem candidate. They guessed wrong.
.
Agreed. I just keep one thing in mind. I'm not the one supporting a lifelong liberal in a conservative forum, they are. They'll have to live with that, and I can easily live with the fact that I have been supporting the most conservative candidate in the race, Ted Cruz.
Not really since I didn't see and /s tags..........Are you citing other sites or are those just posting your own observations?
Doing your best to try and keep this stupid thread alive aren't you?
Actually faire has not retuned in over five hours. I suppose he is tied up at the bath house.
Trump (D-NY) is Hillary!’s (D=NY) stalking horse. He’s there to insure her victory. He’ll run 3rd Party for certain. Everyone insults him, no matter what.
He’s like a bad guest at a party who comes in and fingers all the food, coughs on it, makes rude comments and then is insulted when you ask him to leave. He’s a wrecking ball during an election that should be a certain Democrat loss.
I am, and I don't care if he gets the nomination or not.
He is attacking the RINOs, the oh-so-polite PC do-nothings, and the RATagandists...what's not to like?
His properly targeted direct hits are resonating well with the American people, and apparently also with a majority of FReepers. He has successfully rebooted the rules of engagement in American politics.
For that, regardless of his outcome as a candidate, he should be lauded and cheered on.
