For those using Windows 10 this article shows how to turn off the majority of Windows phoning home features.

I don’t know if I’m ready to go from an operating system that occassionally has trojans that make their way in to spy on me or if I want a full blown spying sytem operating my desktop and reporting my every keystroke and webpage to a tyrranical government. I don’t trust a man whose willing to indoctrinate all of our children into socialism so he can make even bigger bucks especially one who wants to trade carbon credits for profit to manipulate the world economy.
Still holding out here.
Waiting for version 10.1, Service Pack 2

How involved is Bill Gates with the day to day operations of Microsoft?
I thought he left the management of the company over ten years ago...
Good news for Microsoft.
I love Windows 10.Its fast and works well on older hardware. The only thing I hate so far is the “Edge”browser.
Why Microsoft can’t make a descent web browser is beyond me but the edge browser sucks.
Upgraded a touch tech laptop from 8.1 to 10 with no problems at all.
Win 10 is primarily for touch tech devices. If you put it on a non-touch tech device you will have to adapt to some differences from the Win 7 desktop configuration. If you are trying to put it on an older machine, Win XP, Vista then if it works it will not work well. It is not for older machines and devices. Win 7 won’t work on a lot of older machines either.
Every OS has trojans that get in and that is usually because of something the user does or does not do to keep the system safe. If you’re worried about someone spying on you, make the changes that turn those settings off. ALL systems are vulnerable in the current technology, internet environment and hacking environment. If you think otherwise then you are delusional.
Thank you! I wish I had not upgraded to 10. Why didn’t tbey stop while they were ahead with Windows 7?
I clicked on the little Windows 10 icon on one of my Windows 7 machines and within one or two more clicks I was installing Windows 10. Something for all to be aware of. As of right now I’d say If you like your Windows 7 I’d keep it.
No, thanks.
I did over the weekend and I like it a heck of a lot better than the last version. This one goes back to a more normal Start button in the bottom left corner. So far I don’t have any complaints. The conversion was seamless from the old version and very quick. Of course, I did it on Sunday at 7 AM so that may have helped.
As in, “If you like your Windows 7, you can keep it.”
I upgraded a dell 1525 laptop that had Vista when purchased. We purchased it in May 0f 2008. I upgraded it when Windows 7 came out and increases Ram to 4 gb. The path to W10 was pretty much seamless.
I don’t use Edge Browser because it does not allow you to send links by email as far as I can tell.

The NSA & our Partner Microsoft want to thank each user for taking steps to download the New Windows 10 Update! The cooperation of hard-working and patriotic Americans makes all our jobs easier. Remember, if you're not a terrorist, you have nothing to hide.
You can reverse it back to Win 7 if you wish.
