“Louche” cannot be applied to the reprehensible
GOP or DNC or the corrupt, Moslem, lying Obama
because there is absolutely NO question of their
utter and odious lack of morality or repute.

According to my Congressman, the whole American society is “louche”. He cme around to my office Wed. afternoon, and we visited for about an hour and a half. He says our society is in deep moral decay. (And he has lost his backbone.) He’s been in DC for 6 months and he looks dreadful.

He’s sleeping in his office, showering in the House gym, eating all his meals out, has gained about 100 lbs., and is working on a good case of acne. I’m known this man for more than 20 years and have never seen him so discouraged. He says nobody cares about gay marriage. (And they are not going to do anything about it.)

He represents a huge area of Wisconsin which contains more manufacturers than any other Congressional district in the USA. He claims that wealthy, successful manufacturers don’t care about gay marriage. I am a barely hanging on, not so wealthy, manufacturer and I care a great deal. But, I guess I don’t count.

Pray for this country. Pray hard.

I ALWAYS make a mistake on the title these days. I call it a good day if I spell today’s word correctly.

He’s right. People don’t care about gay marriage cause it’s seen as a freedom issue. It’s a lost cause. We only marginalize ourselves by focusing on this.

We need to win the White House in 2016, and being the scolds on gay marriage isn’t going to do it. It’s playing right into the media’s hands.

Really? And how is winning the WH with a Milquetoast-type candidate who stands for nothing going to protect our freedoms?

I don’t know anybody who isn’t sickened by this decision. WWJD?

Vanity: Random thoughts on July 3, 2015
What has happened to our society when a tiny minority of outspoken folks can mess with our language and redefine words at will? Furthermore, what will happen to the word of law?

1) First, there was the definition of “is”. Remember that? Depends upon what the meaning of is is. A convoluted excuse, if I ever heard one.

2) Even before that, there was the word “gay”, which (over a generation) morphed from a happy word with pleasant, cheerful connotations to one that means homosexual, with all the negatives associated. Gay used to be even used as a name for both girls and boys. (ref. the author Gay Talese and my female cousin who is about 50 yrs. old)

3) According to my Congressman this week, the word ”majority” actually means 10 votes over the majority, or it doesn’t count. He says that there is a little known “rule” in the Senate that allows only ONE VOTE PER YEAR to pass out of the Senate with only 51 votes. Where is that in the Constitution? So, a majority of 100 votes means 60 votes now – always.

4) SCOTUS is confused about the word “State”. According to them State now means “Federal”.

5) SCOTUS also did cartwheels defining the word “tax” in order to support Obama who doesn’t even know what “natural born citizen” means.

6) And now “marriage” no longer is a union/contract between man and woman – despite thousands of years of custom.

Anyone who says this doesn’t matter isn’t foreseeing the ramifications. How can the legislative body of the US (or anywhere) possibly write laws when any vociferous minority group can change the meaning of the words at will? No wonder my Congressman (an attorney) looks stressed.

End of rant.

Adding one more thing: The definition of “citizenship” regarding the right to vote. SCOTUS just denied that.

Goodbye USA.

Freedom includes the freedom to choose sin. Jesus would say to give to Ceasar what is Ceasar’s.

Forcing gays to not sin is not freedom. There is no winning coalition for denying anybody the ability to pursue happiness. It’s sort of what America is about.

You may not like what people do with freedom and how they define happiness. So work to change hearts and minds. Not laws.

Forcing gays to not sin is not freedom.

Nobody is asking that. Why are they forcing us to give up the traditional meaning of marriage? They can have legal contracts and or/partnerships -- even civil unions. Why does the rest of society have to sacrifice the many thousands of years old meaning of marriage?

Yes, gay marriage is here to stay. We need to prepare for the next battle, to save our religious freedoms. And we are already behind the game on this.

The state grants a special legal status to people who have paired up with the intention of making their pairing permanent. They haven’t changed any religious meaning of sacramental marriage.

Tioga is right, the preservation of religious freedom is important now, not how the state defines these legal pairings.

What religious freedoms? They are already talking about removing tax exemptions from churches. Many work place rules prohibit the wearing of crosses. Everybody gets a prayer place and prayer time at work, it seems, except Christians and Jews.

I have never forced my religion on anybody, why should I have to accept the state prohibiting the way I think? Talk about microaggressions! The state is committing MAJORaggressions against me.
