>>>”He claimed that the finished reconstructed face would be 95 per cent accurate compared with the original face of woman last seen 7,000 years ago.”<<<
Original face last seen 7000 yrs ago by whom??
By her killer.
Those guys! Watching too many Keanu Reeves movies.
Fantasy.
These reconstructions are probably reasonable accurate as they are used to help identify victims of air crashes and do quite well.
The reconstruction?
That was such a letdown, the original attempt looked like Cap’n Picard.
Probably didn’t survive that bus crash after all, *and* fell into a time portal left on the set of an earlier movie.
I agree. Looks like this is a virtual reconstruction, as opposed to those nice 3-d resin type seen in many US museums.
Yes, and more..
I don’t know how someone can claim “the finished reconstructed face would be 95 per cent accurate compared with the original face of woman last seen 7,000 years ago.”!
Firstly, no mention of a killer in the article.
Secondly, who exactly was the last person who saw the “original face of woman 7000 yrs ago”? Is the person still alive, or some evidence of “seen woman” or what a woman or man looked like 7000 yrs ago in Iran or that region? or am I completely misreading the article?
Thirdly, I have two friends who are surgeons, one specializes in facial maxillary (reconstruction of face from most recent photographs). He said the accuracy of a reconstructed face based on a most recent photo, even using a computer software program is at most 80% - even a fraction of an inch anywhere on the face makes a world of difference. IOW, it can look completely like a different person.
Fourthly, just look at Trevor Rees-Jones (Diana’s bodyguard). His face was reconstructed for real using before the accident photographs, and he now looks totally like a different person.
Anyway, I found it the photo you posted in #1 interesting; she looks like a girl who is in my team at work & work for me - it’s uncanny. She is an Israeli who immigrated here with her husband & kids few yrs ago, nice woman.
The killer thing, that was a joke. Guess it went over big.
Ötzi, aka Frozen Fritz, the 5000-year-old mummy found in an Alpine glacier in 1991, was initially believed to have died from exposure or a fall during a mountain trek. However, it was soon discovered that he had been murdered. Later speculation, based on the amount of stuff he had with him and where it was found, is that he was killed in the lowlands and, being a person of some status in has community, was transported into the mountains for burial. Then the glacier disrupted his tomb, complicating the investigation.
Did someone say mummy?
Nah, got that one; besides, not even a killer lives 7000 yrs, well maybe spiritually ;)
