He went to a specialist in Mobile, AL, and after a couple of rounds of antibiotics, his insurance company balked at another. He produced the evidence that he needed more and they fought him and the doctor. Finally, the AMA pressured the doctor to not prescribe the drugs again, even though other drugs werent effective. That happens more offen than not. There are big differences of opinion on the treatment protocol. The NIH/CDC and the health insurance industry recommend a single course of antibiotics, and perhaps a second course in rare circumstances. In contrast, many doctors in upstate NY, CT, and MA, who have been on the front-line of Lyme Disease since inception, recommend multiple courses of antibiotic over the long term, which most insurance companies will deny.

Sorry to burst your bubble, Mr. Specter, but your mom was a Communist, or at the least was part of a Communist controlled organization.

Sister had the rash, got treated, and seems ok. THANK GOD.
This is frightening stuff. There’s a short hike I want to take in the Northeast, but never got a chance. I’ll still do it, but I’ll wear a burka for it (or something close).

This screed is a bad joke.
Antibiotics exacerbate Lyme.

Now it’s on the rise, possibly as a result of global warming and suburbanization.

No, it's on the rise because deer populations in suburban areas are exploding. Thin the Deer population down, you thin the disease vector down. Not rocket freaking science. You're right and it's too bad the author thought it necessary to use an otherwise good article for a PC agenda. Deer population over the past several decades in many areas are exploding. This is likely due in part to a reduction in hunting. I live in east Tennessee and although we had deer in some areas 30 years ago I never saw one in my neighborhood. I live in a rural area and have lived within the same half mile area for over 50 years.
Over the past decade, much more so the past 5 years, it has reached the point I have to be careful going down my driveway now because several deer often run out in front of me. I do allow hunting on my land to three persons who are either family or friends and they haven't made a dent in the numbers despite each one of them tagging out with maximum bag limit each year.
As a matter of fact to my south about 15 miles at the 110 Exit on I-75 in Knoxville, TN which is inside the city in a highly commercial and residential developed area I've seen deer browsing along the exit ramp LOL.

RED FLAGS-RED FLAGS-RED FLAGS-RED FLAGS-RED FLAGS-RED FLAGS Now it's on the rise, possibly as a result of global warming and suburbanization.

My cousin’s daughter has advanced Lyme’s disease. She had to start a go fund acct to raise money for treatment as insurance won’t cure it. The treatment is lengthy and expensive.

Got really sick (after a Tick? who knows it was a convenient excuse at the time, I had a big ol fat one latched in-between my fingers) ... 3 days w/high fever, sweats, chills etc ... (no rash) my MD sent me for many tests and then to a Cardiologist ...
Cardiologist said I was fine but my MD needed to come see him.
May or may not have been anything to do with the Tick, I was clearing Land and was prolly bitten by many many other critters, being over 50 at the time probably had more to do with it than any thing else.
The way I look at it is whatever it was, now I’m probably immune, lets go hunting!

You have to continue this herb for long periods of time because of the ability of the "Borrellia Burgdorferi" bacteria Pathogen able to burrow so deep into Organs and cell tissue.
The Wild Herb "Sarsaparilla" also kills "Borrelia Burgdorferi".

.
Destroying the bacteria in your gut, upon which your very life depends, with antibiotics is an M-60 hip shot into a gang of kindergarteners.
This will leave you dependent upon the people who destroyed your life, for the rest of it.
