All this talk about virus and hijacking? I thought that little stripper girl walking across the bottom of my screen was part of the Freepathon.
Laz, DANG IT! That is the LAST TIME we make you the FReepathon advertising director.
Unless it worked, that is.
It gets rid of 99+% of the ad crap on web pages.

Have any Indian (red dot, not woo woo) women coughed on your computer? It may have TB.
So, did anything come up up when you did your Malwarebytes rootkit scan?
Probably Google Analytics/urchin.js, among others.
It’s just a hit counter that collects some other details; operating system/browser, IP address, and some public browser variables.
The rest of the information GA collects is derived from the IP address: country of origin, ISP, physical location (city-level, unless GPS is turned on.), &c.
Most web page hit counters do this now; as such, most ad/script-blockers block them.
I’ll join the chorus, because they are right. Download malwarebytes (even if you have another program, it missed a big malware infection). Run malwarebytes several times, restarting your computer each time. Then, once it’s coming up clean, get an adblock program too. You’ll be much happier.
Ditto, in nearly 15 years.
It's amazing how clueless some posters are. Asking a question that is dependent on the browser being used, and the associated protections, without identifying his browser!
