I can personally call bullcrap on that.
I live in Northern California and this year the late frosts
have destroyed my entire orchards fruit production.
I don’t even have pears, apples, or cherries this year.
My trees normally bloom in very late March or the first week of April, they did the same this year.
During and after the bloom; the temps dropped as low as 20 degrees F and the night time temps have stayed between 22 and 26 degrees F for weeks, last night on the front porch it was a balmy 28 degrees.
I have had to do nothing but repair plumbing and break ice out of the troughs since late March until today.
Local cooling in the NE US while the rest of the country is warmer my big hairy redneck hiney, so how does the NPR Idiot explain all that nasty white stuff in the Mid West?
My logic is so simplistic that you can’t understand it? Pity.

And in terms of how much our existence affects any of those factor, it's de nada except the last one and -- yes, it's just a guess -- that is probably orders of magnitude below the others in terms of its affect.
Thus the comment in question isn't entirely refuted.
