My militant lesbian cousin in Minneapolis turned down a bank loan because they refused to give she and her other a loan as a married couple.

This was before it was legal in Minnesota and the bank would be breaking the law if they had given an un married couple a loan as a married couple. The bank was willing to give them a joint loan but not as a married couple.

They refused and then spent months ranting about how the bank wouldn’t give them a loan because they were gay.
