And it isn’t a way out either way, but a way deeper in.

this made me thing of a time long ago...

i ordered a cake from a krogers for my sons birthday.
when i went to pick up the cake it was the wrong kind, wrong frosting and they even misspelled my sons name.

when i went to the manager, the conversation went like this.

me: excuse me sir, but this cake is not what i ordered.
manager: did you order a cake?
me: yes
manager: did you get a cake?
me: yes
manager: then what are you complaining about?

this conversation went in circles for quite a while. i left and it was over 20 years before i set foot in a kroger store again..

now, why would this not work with fag cakes..
take the order, and ship them a cake with the word GAY and a circle with a slash though it..

they ordered a cake..
they got a cake...

They’ll find another way to go after Christians. Have they ever done it the lawful way in the past? One cannot buy away persecution.

You are still free to do it your way. It undermines no ones freedom.

Everyone?

The 1.7 percent still will dictate to Christians without opposition. Christians will never be free to refuse compromise of their beliefs after this, no matter how much lobby money is raised—never. No more Free Exercise Clause, de facto. Did the gays “lobby” for their so-called rights, or did they do it via illegal activism, especially by subverting the courts?—consider that.

You are confused, with all due respect. Faith in money is not faith in God.

Never mind what the Founding Fathers faced. Where did lobbying George III get them?

——making ourselves look like servants of Mammon, thus hypocrites.——

Never did I think earning a profit was serving mammon...

The priest idea is more in line with “pouring hot coals on their heads” ...to paraphrase someone...

You are still free to do it as you wish.
This is not caving, this is doing it on the Christian business owner’s terms.

I don't know what you do for a living but would you be willing to give up job rather than look for a clever alternative to this situation.

Because these bakers and pizza shops are being put out of business, it is worth considering if there might be a way to discourage gays and at the same time save your business from their vile attempts to destroy you.

I'm not saying your are wrong, but I am saying that it is worth examining the alternatives...and on the surface, the priest has something worth examining.

Since the State is forcing this issue this would be a pretty clever response.

You are confused, with all due respect. Faith in money is not faith in God.

I'm not sure how you deduce that from my statements or from this proposal.

Think about the kind of thinking behind it. The First Amendment is utterly undermined; you can’t get it back by lobbying for it.

Do what is right and suffer the consequences. Today there are Christians getting their heads lopped off for obeying God's laws. Losing a business is a small thing compared to getting beheaded.

Make a stand, suffer the consequences then trust God to take care of you.

So “earning a profit” no matter from whom or what, especially in the name of some cause that may be against your beliefs, is not serving Mammon? Okay then; that legitimizes the Mafia.

I asked the OP if the Apostles did it this way. I got no answer. Proverbs 25:22 and Romans 12:20 do not involve compromise of one’s beliefs for the sake of money; rather, it seems no profit motive is involved, and I do not see how what is suggested here is an act of kindness that will promote religious freedom rather than undermine it. Think Acts 5:29 instead.

Meditate on Acts 5:29 for a bit.
