Body cams are already in use many departments, so your concerns are more imaginary than real.
Like it or not, body cams are here and every cop in america will be wearing one.

CNN just showed three instances of Blacks being shot by the police, then
one of a White man killing an officer. Back to back.
What do you make of that?

Cops version BEFORE the video came out:
Officers account
Slager said earlier this week in the statement from his attorney at the time that his encounter with Scott had started around 9:30 a.m. Saturday as a routine traffic stop.
His department said he pulled over Scotts Mercedes-Benz sedan near Remount and Craig roads because it had a broken brake light. But at some point, Scott ran away with Slager in pursuit on foot. Scotts passenger stayed with the Mercedes.
During the foot chase over a dirt-surfaced road near a small park, Scott confronted Slager, according to the lawyers statement. Slager got out his Taser to subdue the man, but Scott took the device during a struggle, the statement said. Thats when the officer fired at Scott several times because he felt threatened, it added.
The bystanders cellphone camera continued to roll as Slager stands over Scott and another officer puts on gloves.
(Expletive) abuse, the cameraman says. (Expletive) abuse.
During the 21/2 minutes after the shooting until the end of the video, the backup officer lifts up Scotts shirt to check his wounds. But no one immediately starts CPR.
The police have said, though, that they tried desperately to save Scott until paramedics showed up.

There’s another thread where at least one is defending the cop.

People actually still watch CNN? I’ll pray for you :)

“Just to clarify - so, if you can open up a little distance and outrun the cop, you can do anything first?” Of course not. But what the dead man was or was not justified in doing in no way makes what the cop did afterwards okay. Not by a long shot.

I don’t know, he looks pretty spry...

Cops are allowed more reasons for using deadly force than we mere civilians. As well they should be. But did you see the video? I mean, pretty cut and dry, really. I would have been ashamed of myself if I was the cop. That was just chickenspit.

Cops are allowed more reasons for using deadly force than we mere civilians. Not saying the shooting was justified, just saying that cops dont need to perceive any imminent threat to themselves or others in order to justify use of deadly force.
What country do you live in?
What DO you think cops need to perceive in order to summarily shoot citizens to death?

There’s always some excuse for murdering a civilian, right?!

I guess it’s up to the individual? If I was afraid of a cop, maybe he’d made some threats, maybe for any reason, good or not, then maybe I’d run too.Although come to think of it, I wouldn’t run, I can barely walk fast, much less run!!! But in any case, it’s not a capital offense to run. Or in this case, it was.

Well, on the other hand, is everything a capital offense, required a death sentence right then and there?

Paul is not interested in Truth, he’s sticking up for a killer cop. Any innuendo or doubt cast is worth it to him, I suppose.

You must not have read carefully. There is a poster on this thread that will cast any aspersion to make the killer cop seem innocent and put upon.
