Not sure about the authenticity of the survey, as the website makes clear they were unable to obtain a copy and then allege some guy, somewhere, claiming to be somebody, sent a copy of a survey.

There have been studies I have seen, first one back in 1980, wherein questions similar to the alleged survey are asking. Oh, and intermediate and senior service schools study this subject and many of the students write their thesis on the subject, and facts are necessary to write knowledgeably.

Why were they asked? Following Vietnam it was clear the US military needed to re-focus, become more professional, be a warrior class dedicated to serving the country in defense of the constitution. At that time, post-vietnam, US troops had a woefully inadequate understanding of their role and limitations. Hence a training program to correct this lack of understanding. Surveys were done to help identify what was the problem.

The surveys were done as part of an effort to assess the troops awareness of what the law says regarding what the role of the military is and their limitations. The roles and limitations of the military were not taught in publik skols.

The surveys queried various grades and professions. This was to assess just how well the law was understood, if the person being surveyed understood the limitations.

Part of initial training through advanced professional development, these types of questions were asked to find out what our warriors (on average come from the more conservative part of America) understood/retained from their training.

Pre-test results for those that were within their first few weeks of service indicate a very muddled understanding of the role of the military, and post-training testing (within a few months after finishing initial training) indicate a far greater understanding and true respect for the limitations on federal troops. Mid-career and senior career had even higher percentages of respect for such limitations.

Now, with obozo pruning senior ranks, the numbers for the senior leaders may skew some, but nonetheless, as long as we have training and education on the role of federal troops, a scenario where US troops would blindly follow orders and essential wage war on American citizens, while making for a great book of fiction, is hardly likely nor a credible threat.

Again, troops are more conservative than the average American and understand better the role of the military far beyond the comprehension of the average American.

Indeed, to be intellectually honest, if people believe US troops would wage war on Americans then US citizens should not respect and honor them, after all, they are one simple order away from shooting them. In that case, no more “I support the troops.” They are the enemy.
