A five month assignment = $25,0000.
Living next to one of the coldest places on earth.
Did you read my post? I worked in Iraq and Afghanistan. Both are inhospitable environments, but for very different reasons compared to Antarctica. The last I heard was 1,250 a month. I got basic math down in 3rd grade. I’m hip to 4 x 1250 = 5,000, and I’m also hip to 1 x 1250 = 1250. If the gig is 5-G’s a month, it’s a competitive salary... all things considered. I understood the gig to pay 1,250 a month. For my last meal before execution at sunrise, I would like a dozen prawns drenched in melted butter, filet mignon- cooked medium well, a side dish of Portabella mushrooms, grilled white onions, a baked potato w/bacon bits and sour cream and chives, black cherry ice cream, and some maple flavored coffee with a ginger ale flavored spritzer.
With 70,000 pieces of mail per year, I think a lot of it is processing the post cards the summer tourists are sending back home as showcases of the visit.
£1100 a month is around $1800 Stableford you DA.
$1,250 + expenses & travel a month for what most will imagine is an extra special vacation down in Antarctica.
A vacation that includes: 7 day work week, always on call, required to perform all maintenance, cooking, landscaping, etc.
See, if I was young and stupid, I’d sign up for something like this. I’m neither.
