Yeah. I was pretty disappointed in it too. I don’t think I’ll be bothering with the next two episodes.

I watched it. I thought it was pretty good, but I am no history buff. I will never know enough. I do see some things happening in this movie that are going on right now. Things never change. Kinda like the Who song, Meet the new boss, Same as the old Boss!.

I wish they would start a “Pawnstars and Pickers” channel. Then maybe they’d have some history on it.

There is something comforting and frightening about history. A professor said that all history starts with us and in order to learn history we have to get beyond self.

So I find this world we live in not to be so scary when we look at the way things were in the past. As bad as things are today, they can and most likely will get worse, but there is always still a hope that the future can always be better as well.

So this series may not be the history some want, but I see in it the smells, sounds, looks of the period.

The writers are trying to flesh out people of whom little is known into characters that the audience can relate to. From pictures I have seen, Sam Adams was not as good looking as the actor portraying him. They seldom are. But I think it's none the less worth watching.

I have no doubt that more then a little poetic license was used in the Hatfields and McCoys or Band of Brothers. After all if you want straight history one can always read a book.

Obvious mega-BS just from the TV promos. Time better spent taking a serious nap.

For what it's worth, WBill Jr. sat for a couple of hours this weekend, entranced, in front of "From D-Day to Victory", on the "American Heroes Channel".

Lots of interviews with the guys who actually were there. Not too much Hollywood, either.

I flipped the channel for a bit while they were talking about the Concentration Camps. That was a pretty big idea for such a little kid, particularly at the graphic level that the show was going into. But the rest was excellent.

“Chunderbucket”

Kind of like the old word “Thundermug”. A pee pot used with the weather is bad.

HEY! I still use one of those! OK, really a large pickle jar with a lid.

Hey, if ABE LINCOLN can whack vampires, Adams can be a ninja warrior!

I heard them use the Rolling Stones’ song “Paint It Black” on a trailer. I changed the channel.

John Hancock seemed to be some tubby, fey wiseass who’s primary motivation was business.
