I heard a local movie critic, a leftist, say the studio mishandled Selma by refusing to allow critics to view the film in advance of voting. He said only a handful of critics around Atlanta actually saw the film before ballots were due for various film awards.
Apparently some blacks now believe black actors should be nominated for the top awards in their industry without anyone actually seeing them act.
One would guess the entire FBI file on MLK will never be released.
why?
The movie is underperforming so Oprah commands they engage in publicity stunts.
And of course February is black history month.
Congress is supposed to pass legislation without reading it so why not movie critics.
What we used to call a “Publicity stunt”
I heard Oprah inserted herself into the movie in an important role?? In such case the Oscar snub could be personal with Oprah?
As others have stated it appears that we are now expected to have affirmative action for oscar nominees now.
The day is coming when citizens will be required, by force if necessary, to view movies like this.
The thing is that Rev King would have nothing to do with them if he were alive.
