Maybe it will embolden others to do the same - but I have my doubts.
Well it isn't saying much, but the he Moroccan-born mayor of Rotterdam is now leader of the free world.
My Morroccan friend says this is a typical Morroccan approach. I like it.
Good to hear him speaking up, but the bigger story would be the answer to the question: why aren’t more of the regular Dutch leaders able to speak out like this?

Yes, it is strange. Here in Canada there are a handful of Muslims who speak out against extremism on Sun News network. I suspect they and I would disagree on the nature of Islam, but I think we should take allies where we get them. My suspicion is they were born Muslim, and the moderate version they have been raised on is all they know.
I suspect they are "trained" moderates in order to deceive us, elect them to office, and all other methods to weaken how defenses. I surely hope I am wrong, but I don't think so.
If they truly are against the radicals, they would come out and say the Koran is just plain wrong about the killings and lying. Until then............they are equally to blame. I haven't heard one of them speak to that issue yet. Has anyone? JMO
Probably something similar to blacks being allowed to call each other "the N word" all day long, but if a white used it once, even 35 yrs ago, he's the scum of the earth and must be "re-educated."
