That would be the good doctor, Howard Dean... :)

John Dean was a Watergate dude, IIRC.

Thank you, great video. Absolutely no way that's NOT interference. Not possible, that was a thrown call.

Congrats boy fans, you got your wish, the most tainted win since replay came in.

Not just Jaworski. Every NFL commentator is saying it should have been called. No one is defending that call cept the boy fans.

The Lion tackled the Cowboy defender.

Offensive pass interference.

Well, there was that Green Bay at Seattle joke TD call on MNF a few years ago.

There’s been a lot of badly called games.

Defender and receiver spar like that on most passing plays. The difference is whether the receiver (and defender) have a chance to catch the ball, and whether the defender is going for the ball (like he should to get an interception) or pushing the receiver while facing him without giving him a chance to catch.

An ideal defensive play has the defender knocking the ball out of the receivers hands right as it arrives - not the pre-arrival mauling shown in this video.

Dallas got a gift that won them the game and everybody and his grandma knows it...

That was an embarrassing “win” for Seattle, the “fail Mary”. The Seahawks got an undeserved win that day, like the Cowboys (arguably) did today... (Caveat: It’s not a guarantee the Lions would have scored, but they had a nice looking drive going.)

But one can’t expect perfectly called games still and these games don’t come down to one play, Detroit scored 14 points in the 1st quarter and only 6 more for the rest of the game. The Lions did give Dallas enough room to come back.

You need to look at the other angle....receiver clearly holding on to defender’s face mask. Doesn’t show up on the one you posted.

Good summation of the rule, there is no way that guy looked back, he pushed right into him before the ball arrived; they used to call that "face guarding", now it's just pass interference.

Cept in Dallas I guess.

Got to be in the top ten of worst game changing calls ever.

Kudos to Dallas, they're a great team, but it's doubtful they win without that horribly botched call. They were outplayed on the field, and given a wonderful gift by the refs.

Lions didn’t want it badly enough. Too used to losing I suppose. Great teams find a way to overcome, even against the refs and their own mistakes.

They'll be culled out in due time. Aaron Rodgers is cream of the crop as QBs go. Seattle has the league's elite defense. New England always finds ways to win, and Denver's offensive attack (and improved defense) is well-documented.

Should be a fun ride...
