I’ll bet the Detroit coach would have been very mad, players too, if they recognized picking up the flag as bogus.

This is not proof of course, but they didn’t seem to upset.

OK- I appreciate the give and take here... especially in light of the fact that I am a Johnny Come Lately poster... the refs did not have the benefit of reviewing the play as (perhaps) someone else did. I’ll grant you that picking up the flag plants a bit of suspicion in one’s mind. I shall now bow out unceremoniously and ungracefully. Hey what do expect- the SIMPSON’S is on TV!

Maybe the Lions would have scored but in the end, as they always say, that’s just one play out of ?? What 80 or so every game. They had the rest of the game to make that up.

Where's the head being pulled down? I see the receiver having the temerity, the utter audacity, to dare to raise his hand preparing to make a catch against the vaunted Cowboys defense, but no evidence of him grabbing the facemask. Can anyone show that?

(Assuming everyone is aware that putting hands on the face is completely different from grabbing the facemask with the fingers.)

I was just kidding about posting the pic. It was a sideways attempt at pointing out that the jersey was grabbed before the db pushed the receiver’s shoulder and arm as the ball arrived.

That's never NOT been called pass interence. Never. Ever. It's ALWAYS pass interference when the defender runs into the player with his head turned from the ball. Always. It's the worst game changing call in the past ten years. Lions should have had first and ten, with momentum, on the boys 30 yard line. Lions played against a great team, and the refs simply gave the game to the boys.

Sickening. There isn't a single commentator knowledgeable about football not saying the same thing. Not one.

...which is why I love my ‘Hawks, who have had twice as many penalties called against them as against their opponents and yet STILL manage to win. The refs won’t be enough to help Dallas at Centurylink if they get that far...

Not sure what you might have seen. I see a receiver putting his hands up to catch a pass, and a defender interfering. I guess we see what we want to see...

Before the receiver put his hands up to catch the pass, he was pulling the defender's face mask. Pretty blatant...
