There are many things in the bible which sound pretty dumb and even inconceivable... and yet we are seeing them come to pass daily.

My speculation on what form the mark of the beast could take is just as plausible as anything else. Everything you gave as an example to refute my point does not physically change us into something we are not.

Your status as created in the image of God does not refer to our DNA. Other wise chimpanzees would be 98% "in the image of God". It refers to our spiritual component, our immortal soul. No change to our DNA can change our soul.

and even if I was wrong about that, Adam lived a lot longer than we do today, and he was more in the image of God than us. So clearly until we live past 900 we are probably just undoing damage caused to our 'image of God' caused by solar rays or sin nature

I believe it will be a longevity alteration. God limited our lives to 120 years. Something like that could
not be undone and goes against the will of God. A mark or physical change could take place

The anti-christ or false prophet I forget which, creates an image of the beast (Satan I guess) in order that people would worship it. If we were made in the image of God then somehow the AC or FP creates something in the image of Satan. What in this sense do you think the word “image” refers to specifically?
