“ACCORDING TO ANCIENT JEWISH HISTORIAN JOSEPHUS, along with Irish archbishop and chronologist James Ussher, Bible historians and most conservative Christian scholars, the Flood of Noah’s time occurred between 2500 BC and 2300 BC probably close to 2348 BC.”
2015..plus 2500 adds up to almost precisely 4500 years age when the flood in oman is presumed to have occured

Thanks. Now about that secure bunker somewhere...?

That is roughly the time frame for the
Burkle Crater, an asteroid strike in the South Indian Ocean.

U was jesting.
One last time. With a pretty please. What ARE you talking about? I'm interested in the thread.
To: Resettozero
I was jesting about the need to hide out in a bunker to release the comparative dates of the Oman FLood and the Great Flood.
U was jesting was supposed to be typed I was jesting

Luke records that Caesar Augustus gave the command that all the world be registered. Caesar probably meant all the Roman controlled world and any other place the census-takers found.
The Roman god-ruler said what he meant...EVERYWHERE. I don’t know how far they got.

I’m not being facetious. There is zero physical evidence that it ever took place. There have been plenty of bogus claims about it, just as there have been regarding the destruction of the pharaoh’s army as it pursued the Israelites during the Exodus. There was a hoax story just the other day that 400 skeletons had been found in the Gulf of Suez, etc, I saw that shared on Facebook.

Some of the human remains seem to be attempting to call for help on their Blackberries, but alas, they were *actual* blackberries.

That was a claim by Ryan and Pitman, but it makes a better fit (if one must) with the legend of Atlantis. Ryan and Pitman claiming that the Flood happened before the anecdotal creation of the Earth kinda mitigates against it as well. ;’)

Perhaps you mean 2400 BC?

There is also apparently a 4,000 or more? crater in the Iraq marshes. Is that still the accepted age, or could it be older? Was the crater 2 miles in diameter?
To: SunkenCiv
The oft-cited date of the OT Great Flood is 2200 BC. There remains zero evidence that it ever took place. My Bible says it happened - good enough for me.

Thank you for replying to me. We disagree on both evidence for the Great Flood and lack of evidence that the Pharaoh's army was destroyed during a chase of his regretfully-freed slaves, way back then. Hoaxes prove or disprove nothing more than someone's dishonesty.
I can see better your POV, which I had neglected to do previously. This should better serve me as I continue to read your FR posts in the future.
