Sure they do, as long as your body temperature is higher than theirs.

Nyah nyah nyah, snakes like me better!
Speaking of reptiles, James is making a Christmas card for his grandmother. “Do we have a crocodile stamp?” “Australian animals set.” “Oh, perfect!”

As to the better cat for you, consider the color of your furniture ;-). That can backfire. I had black clothing and black, chrome and smoky glass furniture when I had four big black dogs. Then, the fates delivered a black and white dog to us; said dog fixated on litters of blonde/white and red/white kittens, as well as one tuxedo kitten. At this point, camo is the only thing that might work somewhat for us. Five cats and four dogs later, we now have two small red dogs. Go figure.

Well, yes. If you’re going to multiply animals, the color of the first one doesn’t matter all that much.
All of our furniture is dirt-colored.

...consider the color of your furniture... And your clothes. And I can attest to that.
When I moved out here to Humble City last year the place came with a shed cat, with kittens. One by one the coyotes (or maybe the golden eagles) were picking off the brood, plus our own kitty we brought out here, and eventually the mother shed cat.
Which left two kittens, old enough they were weaned but also pretty much feral. I have a way with cats so I brought them in and after a few months they were socializing mostly normally. Now I have had them a year and they are big, fat and obnoxious, Tommy and Jeffy.
BUT, they are WHITE with orange tips. And white cat hair doesn't blend with anything, except maybe white, poorly.
To: Clinging Bitterly
Orange cat hair doesn’t exactly blend, either. We have a calico, so it’s hopeless.
