Several yrs. ago I was gung -ho MMA.
Then they switched to pay T V. Stopped watching most fights.
Completely out of touch with the sport now.
Don’t recognize even one fighter on the card.

It's definitely a lot more fun to watch if you know who the fighters are and their style, record etc.

Then it is even more fun when there are those rare few who rise above the rest and achieve true greatness and are humble about it.

Then it is so sad when they retire and are finally defeated.

I suppose it's the same with every sport. My younger Brother is a basketball fanatic and when he was about 14 he told me the 2nd saddest day of his entire life was the day Larry Bird retired.

I asked him what was the 1st. He said the day Grandpa died.
