(Remember: Anagrammers can turn GENITALS into TAGLINES...)
I saw it but my point still stands. Unlike lefties, we can disagree about things.
My >0.5 just sent me the link to this one a few minutes ago somehow, I missed it yesterday :(

Rock and Roll Hoochie Coo?
.38 Special?!?!
Hold on loosely...
Never win another election?
Clinton got impeached...
House retained a majority, and a (would be) two term conservative was elected, over a sitting vice president.....
During peace and relative prosperity.
My main home defense weapon is a shotgun. Jr Walker and the Allstars...
My always-close-by weapon is the .38 Special my dad gave me when I left home to be a grown-up.
You see it all around you.
I must agree with xs, FRiends...
Impeachment didn’t tarnish Clinton, and it won’t tarnish this ass****, either-the senate won’t buy off on it-like last time-and too many people are stupid and have short memories. I’d rather see the members of congress who are lawyers go after red meat like the IRS, and such-that always brings a feeding frenzy if they persist, and it can be invigorating.
I don’t see wasting political and literal capital on gestures, no matter how fine they may be-we don’t have the money and time for that, and I’m hardly the only one who is tired of polite games and wants to see some legal blood sport to rev up for November and beyond...
It would be a feel-good exercise in futility. Accomplishing nothing while depleting capital.
So is Rubio def a non-starter in your opinion? Was his faux pas re immigration irredeemable? Does the border mess ameliorate that or exacerbate that? I have to say I find him appealing. He’s smart and articulate.
It may not have tarnished Clinton, but aside from the (D).....the similarity ends. The Republicans lost less than 5 house seats, and retained a majority in the 2000 congress and Elected W.
There was Zero electoral consequence.
And as for the preezy in question, Clinton is/was intelligent, engaging, and had the aura of dogged pursuit of luridness to obscure the central facts of his impeachment. Obama ain’t Billy Jeff...l.
And, it was...closer to a singular scandal.
The whiff of Racism, surely would be a media byline, but a major difference here is that Clinton had not lost the media at the time of his impeachment...This Administration is so awash in scandals that are either Nixonian on steroids,(IRS...and much more importantly the Harassment of journalists) or that reek of mind bungling incompetence, (Benghazi, Gun Walking, the VA) that there is a veritable Chinese buffet for every member of the mushy middle to find something to hang on, and all of it ties to Obama’s smug runaway arrogance, which is the defining characteristic leading to his rule by fiat, and hence suitability for impeachment.
At the end of the day, the Boner lawsuit, is abuse of power. All the lawyering in the world does not make that a question for the Courts, in this context.
A fair argument can be made publicly by the (R)’s, that as he has no electoral consequence (and I am fairly certain, they will try use that argument in the Courts only for Boner to be told that his suit is a political, rather than a legal question) that they need to use the constitutionally provided mechanism, to preserve the balance for Congresses/Presidents of either party going forward (see Dingy Harry making that argument both ways vis-a-vis the nuclear option) also, it is entirely possible the lawsuit...is just a “we used every other avenue available” though IMHO it’s the eunuchs kicking the can down the road, and trying to look good for whining about it.
And when Even Ruth Marcus sees it Palin’s way...well...there isn’t much more to say on the subject.
What example of depleting Capital is there?
And FWIW, Boner has no capital to deplete....
It’s also a fair argument that given the ratio of Dem v. Rep defenses in the upcoming Senate twist, forcing the Trial phase to defend a runaway President, who...will surely go off the deep end..is ar more likely to pay electoral dividends.
But..as I pointed out...there was Zero electoral downside on the Clinton impeachment..
Doom talk plays into the hands of the NYT editorial board...
Agreed.
Obama has not “lost” the press either, in spite of their bitching about being stonewalled-in other respects, he is like Nixon.
The press gave him a coronation in 2008, a second one in 2012, and will still bail him, even though he is not, as you pointed out-Clinton-he is their new idol, and even more hysterically adored than Clinton was.
Palin is not a politician at this time-her comments are opinion, as are those of Marcus and many others of all stripes who are appalled at seeing Nixon’s playbook used once again when they thought the thing was buried.
While Obama being fired, handed his severance pay-after the excessive vacations are deducted, or course-packing up and leaving the WH in disgrace is my dearest wish, it has been pointed out that democrats still control the senate at this time in conditions favorable to corruption-this is not the time to expend political capital and taxpayer money just to fall on a fancy sword, IMO...
and anyone who thinks the current day electorate is the same as that which was voting back in the 80s hasn’t been paying attention either. need I remind everyone who was voted governor of VA this past time around? putting faith in the voting habits of your fellow citizens is folly. NO reasoning person thought that Obama was electable once, let alone twice. You think impeaching him is going to change minds? REASONING PEOPLE already know what the deal is, but unfortunately there weren’t enough reasoning people to affect a different outcome. Leftists think Obama’s been hogtied and persecuted by the Republicans. The media will continue to perpetuate that myth. Does anyone seriously believe that the media will turn honest at this point? the no-nothing electorate isn’t going to wake up and agree with us, so get over that.
On foreign policy he's basically John McCain.
He has no executive experience either.
I'd vote for him in the general even though I am sooooooooo neoconned out.
All impeachment would do is jazz up the black vote in November. Right now they are staying home and we have way to many governors in precarious positions to risk enthusing the Dem base.
