I could give my rant about age limits, rather than objective preparedness, for Confirmation, but that would be boring. I’ll see what happens when we bring up Vlad, because he’s two years ahead of his age/grade. It was convenient for me to start James and Vlad in first grade Sunday School at the same time, and they’re still in the same grade (5th this year).

Pat’s only one year ahead, and nobody has mentioned it ... and Vlad is tall for his age, so maybe he can just cruise along under the radar. The religious education staff does not want to upset me, and they have lots of other things to worry about.

I’m glad Mr. Bill is happy. Tomorrow morning, either Bill or Tom will drive the purple car down to Wingate, about 30 minutes east, and I will drive the Silver Bullet to a mechanic recommended by a trustworthy church member. Hopefully they can fix the left-rear-light electrical glitch without too much difficulty, and we can pick it up on Wednesday, when we have the purple car again.

Heck, a pair of 6s beats a pair of 5s! Three 2s beats a pair of 5s!

I was so totally insulted about not being able to be Confirmed. I had the name picked out and everything! I wasn’t jealous of my sister, but I was sure ready to kick the shins of the Bishop, whoever he was at the time.

I know the nuns were impressed, and thought I had a good shot, but, ohwell...

I hope the trip to Wingate for the Silver Bullet is fruitful! It would be nice to have it registered. Are you planning on vanity plates? If not, why not? I think you should!

I'm keeping my finaglers crossed for your automobiling success.

You could try for "BONFIRE".

I was thinking more along the lines of “DADS CAR.”

Says it sweetly, yes?

My church friend has very high standards, so if he recommends this mechanic, I have confidence. I wasn’t going to entrust to entrust Dad’s car to just anybody.

I am thinking of a vanity plate. AR BLLT (Silver Bullet). Or CPT BILLW (Captain Bill Wright) or BILL WS 7. Suggestions welcome from all.

You and NC gave excellent suggestions about what the glitch might be and things to do with it ... but I just don’t want to turn Bill and Tom loose with a voltmeter. I have life insurance on them, but not enough, plus they might damage the car.

Three 5s and Jack is better.
15,2
15,4
15,6
4 for 2 pairs
1 for the Jack.

I’m going now......:)

Your choice...you’re the one who has to look at the plate every time you drive it. Mr. Bill was going to be “1NVNTV” or One Nevada Native. But when my niece saw it for the first time, she said, “Oh, Auntie!!! That is the CUTEST little baby SUV I’ve ever seen!” So the plates are “BB SUV.”

I still like looking at them!

Jeeze...my late husband taught me to play cribbage, and the day I beat him, he never brought up the game again.

However, that only took about five years. We played chess for nine years, with me being beaten every time. Then one day, I beat him. “You BEAT me!” Yes, I did. “That’s not possible. Let’s play again.” I beat him. “You can’t do that! One more game.” And again, I beat him. Never again was chess mentioned. He overlooked the fact that for nine years, I was learning his moves....

Cribbage was the game in my father’s family. I don’t think I beat my grandfather until I was well on in my teens, and didn’t realize he was cheating until I was even older.

My dad was in a cribbage club in The Villages (a big retirement community in Florida) until his Alzheimers progressed so that he couldn’t add. I’ll bet if you walked up to him today and said, “Fifteen two,” he’d reply, “Fifteen four!”

I would have to think hard about 1NVNTV. I’m sure someone in the van (Tom, Pat) would get it eventually, but it would be hard.

I had never been exposed to card games beyond Old Maid and Klondike until I was a young bride, but my first husband just didn’t want to teach me. He was probably smart enough to realize I would learn fast and beat him...

Last husband didn’t seem to think I was capable of learning much. He thought I was cute and dumb.

Not here...when you live in NV and text a lot, some things are self-explanatory. I still have fun trying to figure out vanity plates, no matter what state they are from. LOTS of vanity here...so, lots of vanity plates!

My husband and I have never played cards.

We do love to watch movies, fish, hike, travel and watch old TV shows. At one time, we skied.
