I’m changing my tag line to
What difference does it make!
That’s not how you chew Nicorette...or are supposed to anyway.
“His Bergdahl blunder is evidence of desperation. He just had to get the news cycle off the VA scandal.”
Bergdahl blunder was planned long before the VA scandal hit the news.
A friend of mine son was sent back to Afghanistan several weeks ago.
Before he left he received extensive training how to escape capture. Much more than he had ever received before.
The military knew months ago there was going to be an increased threat to our military men and women being taken hostage.
thanks for the info on that “dance”
I was fixated on the look on Queen Elizabeth’s face while it was going on — that said enough for me.
Everything about the Bergdahl blunder says ‘rush job’. The video they cite as demonstrating Bergdahl was on his last legs was made way back in December. True, they were plotting & planning how to get rid of the worst & most dangerous Guantanamo detainees for quite a while. But the VA scandal pushed the timetable. That is why even the Dems are jumping on the criticism bandwagon. If it had all been planned, they could have gotten Feinstein & the others on board. As it is, it is a bipartisan firestorm.
Especially chomping while welcoming the Queen.
Does anyone have a video link?
I do not have a video link — saw on one of the news shows just a brief part of the ceremony. But, there has to be a video out there.
The Old Testament moral law is God’s eternal Law and is not abrogated by the Covenant of Christ.
Matthew 5:17 “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.”
The Old and New Testament do not contradict each other in regard to imprecatory prayer and loving one’s enemies.
God called His people to love their enemies even in the Old Testament:
Proverbs 25
“21 If thine enemy be hungry, give him bread to eat; and if he be thirsty, give him water to drink:
22 For thou shalt heap coals of fire upon his head, and the Lord shall reward thee.”
The Psalms and Proverbs do not contradict each other.
In Matthew, Jesus is dealing with personal wrongs.
Those teachings to not contradict prayers that God gives to be prayed against His enemies.
One of the great heresies in America which took hold in the 19th century was the idea that Christians were supposed to stop restraining the most wicked sins against God and man based on the deceptive interpretation of Matthew 5. Such a heresy, after all, even would mean that a Christian must give up their right and responsibility of self-defense against criminals and attacks, which, of course, is nonsense.
Also, no pointing out by the media of the hypocrisy of the man who barred Normandy veterans from their monuments last fall, turning around and praising them when the cameras were rolling. But the lazy a** American Sheeple don’t know, and don’t care.

I posted a pictorial reminder last night on this thread:

Do you have a New Testament passage, or better yet, a quote from Jesus Himself, that we are to pray destruction on our enemies?
I read on another thread that the Bergdahl backlash would dominate the Sunday political shows. This is not the way Obama planned or intended it. Also recall, he said he wasn’t surprised at the firestorm of criticism. Given that he lies when he speaks, that means he was wholly taken aback.
big deal..now Moochell chewing her cud...
Oh, I’m with you that there are long-term intel projects like releasing the Gitmos, and that many of the details of this particular instance were probably happening recently.
WH advisors definitely thought this would ingratiate the WH with pro-defense people. When it blows up they sit looking stupit.
WH advisors are not too bright. Sneaky, so they do some clever tricks, but they also blunder in a big way. Too many lies on top of lies, I would guess, and Harvard types can’t figure that out. They think they’re smart enough to keep all the stories straight.
Fantasywriter, nice analysis and right on.
It didn't begin well either.
An amazing post, Fantasywriter. As I consider your points, I believe you are right.
There will be nothing in the US news. The media will lie, cheat and steal to protect their man.
Now if Bush had looked like he was chewing gum, we would be hearing about it for 2 months afterwards.
