Gonna be good for hockey .NYC and either LA or Chicago in the Cup Finals.
Remember, the last strike was over revenue from the TV contract with NBC.
One thing for certain in these Playoffs is that you can’t be certain about anything ... So many twists & turns and changes of momentum, from one shift to the next it seems. You’d think that the Kings edge by the middle of the 3rd would have carried them on to clinch, but Chicago still had a couple surprises in store. It bodes well for the Blackhawks going into Game 7 that PK appears to have woken up maybe he had an encounter with a cabbie in the last few days ;-)
We will.
I was at the CIO Synergy event in Chicago on Thursday, one of the panelist/speakers was a CISO from Los Angeles who's a big Kings fan.
Started off his part on a panel related to Enterprise Security by making a statement that the series was headed back to L.A. after the Hawks win on Wednesday night.
I yelled out "You're damn' right, and you'll be back in Chicago Sunday!"
750+ people in attendance all cheered.
GO BLACKHAWKS!
Hawks scored 2 in 2:21 off a shift change, Kings scored two in 97 seconds off a shift change.
I will say this about the Kings: They're a fine team. They're younger than the Blackhawks, are an incredibly physical team (their Hits ratio vs. the Blackhawks last night was something else) and they're fast.
No doubt the Blackhawks have had their hands full in this series, and there's been some GREAT hockey played. Best I've seen in a very long time. I think whoever wins is going to just tear the Rangers up. Probably moreso if it's the Kings, but either team (IMO) can beat the Rangers.
Malkin seems thrilled. I’m would be surprised if he didn’t finish off his career in Russia.
That would be interesting, considering how he pretty much “snuck out” of Russia to play for Pittsburgh.
Right now tied 1-1 in the 2nd period.
Yes but things seem to have changed. A couple seasons ago, he told the Russian press that he needed to go to the Worlds because he wanted to win that championship (this was while the Pens were playing the Flyers in the playoffs) and last year he was encouraging Crosby to play in Magnitogorsk. Recently, he told Rossi that if the Pens tried to trade him he would go to the KHL. I don’t think he’ll leave anytime soon but he seems like a guy who will end up going home.
Thanks for reminding me.
Baby Pens win 4-2!
Trail the Ice Caps 3-2 in the series.
It sounded like a good game. Kobasew, Depres, Gibbons, Sill, there’s a lot of familiar names on that team.
I'm surprised they haven't hired a new GM - and still have Bylsma as head coach.
Columnist: Penguins should make run at Mike Babcock as next coach

I’ll bet nobody calls Babcock “Babs” to his face.
I’m not surprised, I thought it would take about a month. Right now the rumors are that Brisbois, Mciver, Gorton and Fitzgerald are the candidates. The local press has been trying to push the idea that Pierre McGuire would be a good GM. I think that’s nuts. Mciver seems like a good candidate and has the credentials they say they want, particularly the ability to evaluate talent.
Great, Kings score, hope they win. Even the pundit at half-time said both penalties let alone 1 that were called on the Kings were weak calls and the Blackhawks got two power play goals.
4-4! About 7 minutes left in regulation.
Overtime!
