More weirdness on Mars. While I don't believe life is on Mars, other than maybe microbial, this does tickle my sci-fi side with thoughts of an underground civilization

I thought it might be a plume from some sort of out gassing event that caught the sun just right. But dust devil is a much better explanation.

It looks like a luminous jet or plume of some sort. If it’s reflected glint, it should only be visible during a brief time of day when the sun angle is just right.

Thats a reasonable explanation. That would explain why itlooks like a column, but red dust of Mars I don’t think would have that kind of reflectivity.
