The first article I saw said that there were 100 FBI agents on the job, and that determining the provenance of all the artifacts might take 30 years.
Instant make-work project. Perhaps this is how Obama is addressing the unemployment problem.

Just think how easy it is to collect antiques the native American way. Heck, I think I'll complain to the FBI “Art crimes unit” about all the cool Norwegian Viking stuff that's been dug up and is being displayed in some Europeans homes. ! That's miiiiine!
